I've heard it said that there is no such thing as a stupid question. You are proving this theory wrong.

Stupid question ?? how so I think they are ligitimate questions. With a planet so tiny so insignificant in a cosmos vast beyond comprehension why is there so much attention from this holy spirit and if he created his world why did he create such a cruel world but most important what was the purpose ? is it because he was just playing around another question why human beings and snakes skeletons so similar is structure and why do snakes have vestiges of legs. shurly its because their early ancestors walked on legs rather than slithering.

Humans and snakes both have skulls, backbones and ribs that support and protect the softer structures in the body. Humans and snakes are each highly derived descendants of a common ancestor, so many features of their skeletons are analogous to each other, albeit heavily modified.
Humans and snakes both have skulls that contain brains and support most of the animals' sense organs, such as eyes and noses. Both have jawbones, though mammalian jaws are very simple, and reptilian jaws are complex arrangements of bone and cartilage. Humans and snakes both have teeth, although the number and types of each set vary between species, and even from one individual to another.
Snakes and humans each have identifiable neck, upper back and lower back vertebrae, and the bones of the spine are recognizably similar in form and function. Both types of bone are ring-shaped, with central gaps to support the passage of the spinal cord. Snakes usually have many more vertebrae than humans, and most of the bones in the vertebral column support a set of ribs. Humans also have ribs, though they are fewer in number than snakes', and all are attached to the bones of the upper back. A few snake species, such as boas, have structures analogous to hips and hind legs, but these are vestigial and are greatly diminished in size.

Did the horses that outran predators get longer legs to escape predators or did they escape predators because they had longer legs? My guess is that the ones that needed longer legs probably got eaten. Further, they had a choice to make, stand and fight or run. The successful ones apparently chose to run.

They got bigger stronger and faster and hose who escaped the predators lived to mate and reproduce passing their favorable genes to the next generation and the biggest strongest and fastest of that generation repeated ect ect

How did he or she do that and more importantly why? What was the purpose ? And why does every organism need to k**l something else and eat it in order to survive, and of the millions of organisms are 60 % of them parasites that make their living attaching them selves to other things and sucking their juices out ?

You are free to believe as you wish, Nik. You could have simply said that you do not believe God exists and left it there. Instead, you immediately contradict yourself. You say you have never "mocked, or criticized, or condemned anyone for their religious belief", then you immediately mock, criticize and condemn those who do believe implying that we are taken in by myths and fictional tales. And, you attempt to back up your contempt with unsupported and meaningless allusions to archeology and science.

Associates for Biblical Research
A Christian Apologetics Ministry Dedicated to Demonstrating the Historical Reliability of the Bible through Archaeological and Biblical Research.

The modern science of archaeology, which began in the mid-1800’s, has revolutionized our knowledge of the ancient Biblical world. Many archaeological discoveries relate directly to Scripture and confirm the historicity of the Biblical record. Other discoveries provide fascinating background material for the Biblical narratives. As people are made aware of these discoveries, the Bible suddenly comes alive and Bible study is made more interesting and meaningful.

Today’s technology has enabled archaeological research and publication to be greatly accelerated. More information is now being produced than ever before. It is even hard for professionals to keep up with the most recent developments.

That’s why the ministry of Associates for Biblical Research is so important and valuable. Our staff of professional archaeologists is actually producing some of the latest research. In addition, we stay in communication with other scholars active in the field and get the inside story on recent developments.

Associates for Biblical Research keeps you informed on the latest discoveries. Furthermore, we also provide a Biblical perspective for the significance of each discovery.

I don't condemn anyone for their belief " Mock " to laugh at in a scornful manner or contemptuous manner. I have laughed at any one I've simply presented my case Against supernatural beings. You conservatives amaze me if a media outlet doesn't lean to the right it is automatically labeled l*****t librul media and If an atheist makes a case for non belief he or she is mocking and condemning those who do. your damned if you do and damned if you don't Modern archaeology began in 1877. These were men who came to a dig with a shovel in one hand and a bible in the other there was nothing scientific about it.

One of the most important changes in the field of archaeology is analysis of archaeological evidence by scientific methods, which are developing day by day with new advanced scientific technology. There are lots of scientific methods which are used in the field of archaeology for dating the past, like Carbon-14, Potassium argon, Thermo luminescence, Fission Track, Pollen Analysis, Dendrochronology, Archaeomagnetism, Obsidian Hydration, Soil Analysis, and Magneto Meter. Mud drillings. Hitorical time lines. For example the story of Joseph mentions camel caravans and Camels were not used to haual cargo in caravans until centuries later than the time of Joseph

Nicky, you represent the lay science aficionado very well. You personify the adage, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Like all of your ilk, you read something, incorporate that uncritically into your repertoire because someone called a scientist said it's so, and go on repeating it ad nauseum without ever understanding the ramifications of the conclusion you adopted.

If you had any real understansding of the evolutionary processes, you would understand why intelligent design is every bit the reality that evolution is.

You are so hung up on God that you cannot imagine a design process without a Supreme hand in the mix. You probably believe that evolutionary change responds to the needs of a creature. So many of you do. I can't understand that level of ignorance. Tell me this, do flying squirrels glide from tree to tree out of a need get to another tree or an ability to do it? If you go back in your mind to the first successful glide by one of those rodents, did that one accomplish it out of a need or an ability?

Think about that and then let's discuss the obvious ramifications of an animal's CHOICE to use a new ability.

Lets use the evolution of the horse as an example. The modern horse is the result of 55 million years of evolution 55 million years ago the horse was a forest dwelling animal about the size of a dog. Paleozoologists have been able to piece together a more complete outline of the evolutionary lineage of the modern horse than of any other animal. Much of this evolution took place in North America, where horses originated but became extinct about 10,000 years ago. The horse belongs to the order Perissodactyla (odd-toed ungulates) the members of which all share hooved feet and an odd number of toes on each foot, as well as mobile upper lips and a similar tooth structure. This means that horses share a common ancestry with tapirs and rhinoceroses. The perissodactyls arose in the late Paleocene, less than 10 million years after the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.

The early ancestors of the modern horse walked on several spread-out toes, an accommodation to life spent walking on the soft, moist grounds of primeval forests. As grass species began to appear and flourish, the equids' diets shifted from foliage to grasses, leading to larger and more durable teeth. At the same time, as the steppes began to appear, the horse's predecessors needed to be capable of greater speeds to outrun predators. This was attained through the lengthening of limbs and the lifting of some toes from the ground in such a way that the weight of the body was gradually placed on one of the longest toes, the third. Today the horse walks not on one toe but the nail of a single toe the other toes have receded to bony splints on the back of the legs

Science does no such thing. I have yet to see a single piece of scientific evidence that even suggests such a thing.

Here is the Case for a Creator researched by a science oriented legal editor and writer for the Chicago Tribune. He was a hard-core atheist, and when his wife became a Christian, he felt his marriage was over. In order to prove to his wife that Christianity and God were just a fairy tale, he set out on a two year investigation during which he interviewed many scientists ranging from cosmologists, and science philosophers, to geologists and microbiologists. What his research revealed to him was a life changing experience. Watch at your own risk. Or don't.

We who believe in God are not obligated in any way to prove His existence to those who mock God, who deny Him, who defy Him, and who show nothing but contempt for those of us who believe in Him. Belief in an infinite creative intelligence is an individual choice.

God cannot be perceived through the physical senses alone, it is a matter of the heart and the human spirit. The longest road in the world is between the head and the heart. When Jesus said, "knock and the door will be opened unto you", He wasn't talking about a wooden door leading into a room.

If I run into an atheist or agnostic in person and he or she expresses a sincere desire to understand why I believe, or wants to look into it, I might be able to point them in the right direction. But that cannot happen on an internet forum. The atheists on OPP have yet to show any indication that they are sincere about anything other than mocking, criticizing, or condemning us. How does one prove anything to such people?

I don't believe I have ever mocked, or criticized, or condemned, anyone for their religious belief. I simply don't believe that super natural dieties exist because of a total lack of evidence of any such beings ,and that scientific evidence debunks the God of the bible and renders the stories in the bible fictional tales designed to teach a moral message that they are old myths written down centuries after they allegedly took place and that there is no historical or archaeological evidence to back up the stories. older archaeologist with a shovel I one hand and a bible in the other thought they found evidence but modern scientific archaeology has proved them to be wrong

I'm not looking for empirical evidence of intelligent design because there is none Science provides mountains of evidence that de bunks the bible. Science doesn't set out to do it as some goal Science just does what it does and that's the way it works out. Science doesn't have all the answers yet but provides us with the only t***h of how the natural world works. Tell me what the object of my h**ed is since you have all the answers and know it all. You say I have no vertical vision. There is no t***h to that at all I always examine both sides of every coin and is the reason I check in on right wing h**e radio shows now and then I'm always interested in knowing what the other side is doing I first learned how narrow minded and un interested in learning anything around 45 years ago. Non believers aren't worried about salvation and therefore open to all kinds of information nd much more curious about all things and seek answers to how things work.

it's nice to know things. one year my family in Oregon met those of us in California for a get together at Shasta lake We took a boat across the Lake to Shasta caverns. At the entrance to the Cavern I spotted a patch of fossilized tube worms about two ft. in diameter. I was astonished to see that knowing what the natural habit of Tube worms is in the deepest parts of the oceans along side volcanic rifts in the earths crust where pressure can be 15,000 lbs per sq inch with no sunlight or photosynthesis with fish eels crustaceans life of all kinds all feeding off of the chemical broth that spews forth from the bowels of the earth and 250 million years later the fossilized remains are in the mountains above Redding Ca, at the foot Mt Shasta the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc. The mountain and surrounding area are part of the Shasta–Trinity National Forest.
