The primary functions of the Department of Education are to "establish policy for, administer and coordinate most federal assistance to education, collect data on US schools, and to enforce federal educational laws regarding privacy and civil rights."[1] Those primary functions do not make the DoE Constitutional!

The Dept. of Education, like all of our other bureaucracies is Unconstitutional, authorization is not found anywhere in the enumerated powers of Constitution. The enumerated powers are the only powers given to Congress by the Constitution and nowhere is authority given to establish bureaucracies to run our government. If you don't believe me read them for yourself. You are the one spreading bull s**t and you are getting it all over yourself.

You base your morals on a book that you neither wrote nor can you question and you ridicule us because we have learned to use our own minds. Tell me what Bachmann said that was so wrong. In order to get the Constitution ratified, many antis***ery colonies had to go along with compromises that allowed s***ery to exist in the south. Many of these antis***ery forbearers went along because it appeared s***ery would die a slow death on its own. John Quincy Adams was not one of the founding fathers, but opposed s***ery just the same and worked to end it. Unfortunately, s***ery did not end until we had a civil war over states rights and the Republican President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. It further took the 13th, 14th, (1868) and 15th Amendments to finally start the process of correcting the issue of s***ery and e******y for all. The fight in some respects is still going on, and there are some issues left to settle. Peter, don't be so selective with your facts, like Backmann and probably me, you don't have all your facts together. I hope you didn't conveniently leave out facts that don't fit your ideological scenario. If you did that purposely then that makes you a liar, not knowing other wise, I will go with you misstated parts of the issue, it happens.

If you believe what you've stated as the "agenda" of the Left, that is proof enough that your own mind has been restricted into thinking along the lines of your parents. I don't know what your chronological age is, but mentally you are an old person who is trying to hold onto the past. (It wasn't all that good, you know.) A lot of it was better than now, though. I agree with much of what you say but there are distinct parallels to 1930s Germany. Hitler was not elected dictator, he accomplished that by what we might call executive action. (Sound familiar?) He never had more than a 30% constituency in the legislature but managed to ram his agenda through. (Sound familiar?) He showed no regard for the average citizen but focused only on where he wanted the country to go. (Sound familiar?) The German people were regarded as a very law abiding people, a nation of laws. (Sound familiar?) He divided the country between his favored and those he h**ed. (Sound familiar?) Once established, he acted through his various agencies, the courts, the secret police, etc. to move his agenda rather than using the previously established means. (Sound familiar?) By the way, we call our secret police, Homeland Security. Just like Hitler's GESTAPO, Homeland Security is asking us to report our neighbors for anything we might deem suspicious.

3 short sentences
When you v**e for an incumbent you are perpetuating our government as it is now. Nothing will change.

These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1.) We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.
Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering.

2.) Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money.
How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.

Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping payments to i*****l a***ns such as monthly payments for each child, money for housing, food stamps, free education including college and also the right to v**e?
