McConnell is just as dense as his brother RINO's. There is absolutely no proof linking #45 with what happened on the 6th of January. King George used his free-standing army to suppress and to place the American people under his thumb. To the founders, a freestanding army posed one of the greatest threats to our young country. By establishing a citizens m*****a we would eliminate such an army save during periods of war. And whether the idea was practical or not when reading the Second Amendment there is no question that is what the founders intended with the Amendment.

What I find so ironic is that Republicans insist on interpreting the constitution exactly as it is written with the exception for any inconvenience it might pose to them. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called Donald Trump "practically and morally responsible" for his supporters' deadly attack on the Capitol, only moments after v****g to acquit the Republican former president on an impeachment charge of inciting the melee.

The top Senate Republican explained the unexpected turnabout at the end of a five-day impeachment trial, by declaring it unconstitutional to convict Trump of misconduct now that the former president has left office and become a private citizen.

The Senate earlier in the week found that the trial was constitutional in a 56-44 v**e.

"There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day," said McConnell, who along with the rest of the Congress and former Vice President Mike Pence fled the mob that descended on the Capitol on J*** 6.

"The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president," McConnell said in a speech on the Senate floor.

The remarks came soon after the 100-seat chamber acquitted Trump on a single charge of inciting i**********n in a 57-43 v**e that failed to reach the 67-v**e threshold necessary for conviction. Seven Senate Republicans joined Democrats to v**e for conviction.

Ten retired general and f**g officers, including the former director of the National Security Agency, have filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court supporting expansion of draft registration to include women.

Retired Air Force Gen. Mike Hayden, former director of the National Security Administration; Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal; Army Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy and others filed a "friend of the court," or amicus, brief Wednesday supporting a case brought against the government by the National Coalition For Men, a group challenging the constitutionality of the Selective Service System's male-only registration restriction.

The case landed in the Supreme Court after a federal appeals court ruled in August that the male-only draft is constitutional.
