Throughout the shutdown, farmers have complained that loan applications have not been processed, and crop payments have been suspended.

In calling on the federal government to reopen, the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture said farmers are unable to access any number of assistance programs, including ones authorized by the recently signed farm bill.

“Without them, the financial stress and challenges farmers are facing will keep accumulating," said a statement from NASDA President Jeff Witte, the New Mexico secretary of agriculture.

The National Farmers Union tweeted last week that "shutdown stories are pouring into" their Farm Aid hotline: "The cotton farmer who couldn’t get disaster assistance to recover from a hurricane. The woman in her 90s facing foreclosure on her family farm. The dairy farmer trying to renegotiate her FSA loan."

Farmers have also criticized Trump's trade policies, saying his tariffs and looming trade wars with China and other countries have increased the prices for soybeans and other agricultural products.

In his rambling speech to the Farm Bureau, Trump outlined his entire economic agenda, putting special emphasis on the trade agenda that has been criticized by farmers.

Trump complained about the trade tactics of the European Union as well as China. And he said he is making new deals to remove trade barriers from other countries like Canada. "We are doing trade deals that are going to get you so much business," Trump said.

Trump said he wants "a fair deal for America's farmers," pointing to a new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada.

Trump said the new. U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement – which hasn't yet been ratified by the Senate – would benefit farmers by allowing them to export more of their products. He urged lawmakers to approve the new trade pact "quite quickly."

Later in the speech, Trump boasted about the the $867 billion farm bill he signed into law last month and singled out its provisions for crop insurance. He also promised farmers who depend on migrant labor that he would make it easier for those workers to enter the country. "It's going to be easier for them to get in than what they have to go through now," he said, offering no details.

Trump wrapped up his speech by paying homage to farmers, saying they built the country and "have always led the way."

"We are fighting for the American farmer," he said, promising that "the greatest harvest is yet to come."

Before leaving the White House, Trump tweeted that he was looking forward to convention in Nashville, saying, "Love our farmers, love Tennessee – a great combination!"

The only problem: The convention was in New Orleans; Trump had to delete the message.

Just like the N**icrats to use everything they can to turn the facts away from the fact that the N**icrats want the borders open to i******s, terrorists, and criminals. And most importantly.....I******s to v**e for them in e******ns. N**icrats do not care about farmers. All they want is future illegal v**ers. Rumi may fall for this charade, but informed people know otherwise.

The majority of American Millennials identify as socialist, according to surveys by both Reason-Rupe and the Victims of C*******m Memorial Foundation. That’s the bad news. The good news is that just 32 percent of Millennials can define socialism. The frequently-wrong but never-in-doubt freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., may indeed be the voice of her ignorant generation.

During an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” Anderson Cooper asked Ocasio-Cortez, “When people hear the word socialism, they think Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela. Is that what you have in mind?” He neglected to mention the vicious socialist regimes of Cambodia, Ethiopia, Poland, Romania, North Korea, and China, among others.

Ocasio-Cortez retorted, “Of course not. What we have in mind—and what of my—and my policies most closely resemble what we see in the U.K., in Norway, in Finland, in Sweden.” In fact, her economic proposals bear little resemblance to British and Nordic public policy.

As early as the 1950s, Britain began to privatize its social security and pension programs. By the 1990s, as decades of socialism caused economic growth to stagnate, Sweden followed suit. Neither Sweden nor Norway mandates a minimum wage, and Britain demands a minimum wage well below Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed $15 per hour. Britain and Finland offer a lower corporate tax rate than the United States, and all the nations she names have lower rates than her proposal of 28 percent. None has a health care regime as socialistic as her proposed Medicare-For-All scheme, which constitutes a full federal takeover of health care.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ignorance of economics and foreign affairs typifies her generation. Despite holding expensive degrees in both Economics and International Relations from Boston University, Ocasio-Cortez threw up her hands in exasperation during an interview on Margaret Hoover’s “Firing Line” program, laughing, “I’m not the expert on geopolitics.” Fortunately for her, in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king; and among a blithely ignorant generation, the lightly educated activist is congresswoman.

The seed of Millennial miseducation, which grew into the Tree of the Lack of Knowledge as activist educators substituted ideology for scholarship, is finally bearing its rotten fruit. According to one survey, one third of Millennials believe President George W. Bush k**led more people than Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. Over 40 percent of Millennials have never heard of Mao Zedong; another 40 percent and 30 percent, respectively, are unfamiliar with Vladimir Lenin and Che Guevara. Two-thirds of Millennials cannot identify Auschwitz, and 22 percent have never heard of the Holocaust, twice the percentage of American adults on average.

Millennials might not know much, but according to a 2016 Harvard survey, they know they don’t support capitalism, with 51 percent of young adults rejecting economic freedom.

During the 2018 midterm e******ns, the Democratic Socialists of America endorsed 42 candidates for local, state, and federal office across 20 states. Of those candidates, 24 won their primary campaigns, and 18 won in general e******ns. Millennials have largely cheered them on. Raised in the United States after the fall of the Berlin Wall, these young Americans have been sheltered both empirically and academically from the myriad horrors wrought by socialism throughout history. And so the problem worsens.

Socialism is an economic disease born of envy and ignorance. Unfortunately both abound in our present politics. The sickness has found an attractive spokeswoman—perhaps, sadly, the voice of her generation.

Trump be running for re-e******n in a booming economy…. And as if that weren’t enough, he’s a billionaire heading a lavishly funded political machine.
Even so… I know that President Trump will go down as the first one-term President of this century, and almost certainly the last Republican President for a generation – and maybe longer.

Remember, Hillary Clinton actually won the popular v**e by millions of v**es, despite being seen as untrustworthy by most Americans.

That means, to win in the E*******l College, Trump basically had to thread the needle. With his razor-thin victories in those three swing states, he drew the political equivalent of an inside straight.

But with more than 10,000 Americans turning 18 every day, that means that Trump’s E*******l College win can be wiped out in just ONE WEEK of the demographic change America’s undergoing.

Pundits can argue hypotheticals all day, but in the end, the math is the math…
We both know that these millions of Millennials won’t just be satisfied with taking their anger out on Republicans in this year’s mid-term e******ns alone.
They will be back in 2020 and each e******n after that.

They will be just as angry… Just as radical…
The only difference will be that each year, there will be millions more of them.

Something is happening in America. Yes, millions of illegal's are coming, all will v**e for the left. Plus thousands of our kids are/have been indoctrinated into socialism. Everyone will v**e for free handouts.

A wall is the last thing the left wants, it could mess up their whole plan!

All over the country, over the last two years, Republicans have been losing e******ns they shouldn’t be able to lose… and been replaced by Democrats who shouldn’t have been able to win.

You’ve probably heard of the most famous examples – e******ns like Alabama’s Senate race last December, where v**ers sent a Democrat to the Senate despite Trump’s pleas – even though Alabama gave Trump 62% of the v**e in 2016.

Or last spring’s congressional e******n in Pennsylvania, where v**ers replaced a Republican Congressman with a Democrat, even though T***p w*n the district by 20 points and campaigned heavily for the GOP’s nominee.

But there are dozens more mysterious political upsets that have already happened – cases of Republicans losing in political terrain that T***p w*n even more overwhelmingly than Pennsylvania or Alabama, in state and congressional-level races across the country.

In Kentucky last February, a Democrat state lawmaker replaced a Republican – even though T***p w*n the district with 72% of the v**e.

In rural Wisconsin, a Democrat unseated a Republican state lawmaker despite Trump’s 17-point margin there two years ago.

And in Iowa, a Democrat took a state Senate seat from a Republican even though GOP v**ers outnumbered Democrats in the district by approximately 2 to 1.

In Oklahoma, a Democrat took a staunchly red House seat with 60% of the v**e.
And in Virginia last year, Democrats pulled off an incredible c**p when they defeated 16 Republican lawmakers for ree******n. Once again, they even prevailed in districts T***p w*n.
And these are just a few examples.

Since Donald Trump took office, 45 Republican lawmakers have been fired by v**ers, including dozens more in ruby-red places like Georgia and Oklahoma that T***p w*n overwhelmingly.

In 2016, a self-described socialist, Bernie Sanders, nearly captured the Democrat nomination… and the Democrat Socialists of America Party’s membership has surged since then.

All told, since November 2016, their membership has grown by 700%. They’ve added as many as thousands of new members in just a few weeks – and that’s NOT including the one-day spike of 1,152 new card-carrying Socialist party members following Democrat Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional win last June.

You can see the rise of the far left reflected on the ground in America, too. Take the more than 750 protests that erupted across the country last summer, for example, with hundreds of thousands of protesters taking to the streets against Trump’s immigration policies. YES, INDEED they really want all the i******s to come in to America!
Trump be running for re-e******n in a booming econ... (show quote)

Another N**icrat. That "won by the popular v**e" remark has already been blown out of the water. Where have you been. She only won by the POPULAR v**e because v***r f***d of letting i******s v**e, when it is a crime to do that. Subtracting all those illegal v**es, and he won the popular v**e by at LEAST 4 million.
