Could you blame the Secret Service for taking that kind of talk seriously? It is because there are - and always have been - a lot of screwballs running around loose, that the presidency of the USA is historically a dangerous job. The Secret Service should keep an eye on people who threaten the president.
It is one thing to disagree with the president. I have a lot of disagreements with this president, and I had a lot of disagreements with his predecessor, and I even had a lot of disagreements with his predecessor's predecessor. It is one thing to disagree with the policies and actions of a president, but threats should be considered out of bounds.

True, some mornings when we got up for school water in the kitchen would be frozen.. Yet somehow, I did not realize this was being poor until I brought some collage friends up to see the place.

Mainly due to taking away their positions as the 'Senate', and their fine rich luxurious living.

Now you know why some members of the Roman Senate took action against Julius Caesar. They were motivated by love of Country and the idea that they were preventing a tyrant from gaining absolute power.

That would build character.. But hauling wood in the snow makes me shiver thinking about it...

The hardest thing for conservatives to swallow is that they ran a decent candidate against an inept incumbent and still lost. Still lost despite a real unemployment rate of +15%, a sluggish economy and Obamacare which few Americans, who understand it, support.
Wait until they realize that Obama is merely the vanguard of what will become the norm. Yes, folks, the times and the demographics are changing.
If feelings of collective guilt are what got this guy elected in 2007 the dumbest thing to do would be to make a martyr of him.

I have heard and read of people who wish Obama would be assasinated, but don't know of anyone who would actually attempt it. I do believe there are large numbers of people who would attempt it if they thought they could get close enough to do it, even if they thought they would not survive.

I would not celebrate the death of any human, but I would celebrate Obama's absence.

We are not a "banana republic"; We are the United States of America. We have institutions sacred to the ideals of democracy, such as a president and the vote. We vote out those who did not work for we the people, we do not shoot out those we disagree with over policy.
Hold these ideals as sacred to freedom or admit that you hate the republic. The love of violence I have heard repeated over and over again in this thread, with its hate and fear mongering, makes me wonder about the true aim of tea party supporters.

I, too, wish not to celebrate the death/assassination of any human; however, Obama is not human! He has shown how beastly he can be, and I believe that someone should take him down! WE THE PEOPLE should rise to the occasion, if only to keep the man's life safe! He is the epitome of the Anti-Christ, and should be dealt with swiftly and HARSHLY! Thank you.

I knew you childish republicans were desperate, but this thread is something else. Of course you know you're on your way out of the picture, grasping at straws. I pity you and will pray for you all.

Well, that's not quite true, there are snipers that can hit their target over a mile away.
But you are right about every street in America being name MLK or Obama. It would be martyrdom. And race riots just for the sake of rioting. I would like to see 99% of them gone...forced to resign/fired.

You are absolutely correct!! And I am damn proud of my nuts.
I could care less what you think about me or my multiple races. Are you ashamed of yours?
What is wrong with YOU? Did my blunt honesty hit a sore spot? Every word I wrote was the unvarnished truth.

When you claim that somebody is less than human, you are in fact throwing away some of your own humanity. In America, we vote people in and out of public office. When you advocate violent action to change the decision that was made by the voters, you are advocating violence against America.

I was hoping there would be some constructive wisdom on this blog. Excellent posts Blue and CJ. Things aren't that bad to need rile up this kind of resentment. Folks may have lost their focus compared to other countries. Despite the status quo, it's still not near as bad as every other government in the world.

Your message below just reminded of quote befitting your message: "A word to the wise isn't necessary, It's the stupid that need advice." Bill Cosby; I'm sure there are mental facilities near your area!

Lol, sorry, unreal. Most of the comments are sick beyond any reasonable response. And what they offer matter-of-factly is either insane or diabolical, and either way quite un-American. This may be one of the most terrible things I have heard from the Right.
