It falls back on the family unit. Parents who believe teachers are the only ones to educate their children are in the wrong. Sit down with your kids. Help them with homework. Make sure they are doing their homework. Take an interest in their after school activitys. Encourage their interests instead of only thinking about yourself and blameing teachers for what you did not do.

Take an interest and do your job as a parent is TRUE.
But the education system is a brain washing system.
History is not History.

Hogwash.

Most teachers, especially math and science teachers, can walk right into a full time position making 30 to 40% more, into a more congenial environment. Most who DO go take that new job don't want to but are motivated to by admin and parents who interfere with their ability to teach effectively, or simply inject too much of an irritant into the environment.

So then you agree pay isn't the problem - bureaucracy and social dysfunction are the problem.

Well, it is and isn't. Many would probably put up with the lunacy if they were making a substantial amount more. Its when they encounter the frustrations and then they reflect on the level of monetary benefit they receive that it becomes very easy to say, "screw it".

So, I'd say low pay is contributory to losing good people in the classroom.

Isolate all those illegal Mexican kids, and the black kids, and the school performance will go way up to the roof.
Allow kids to excel by their talents, and not dictated by the democrat government. They are making it uniform so that the blacks and Mexicans could have the chance to catch up with other kids who are smart. But the fact of the matter is democrats are dragging down the abilities of the smart kids to equal with the dumb Mexicans and black kids.

Democrats STOP doing that! You are punishing the kids who are naturally smart because of your political correctness. It is destruction to the smart kids!!

I don't think it wise to expect schools to compete with industry on pay scales. There are benefits, beyond physic, to teaching that industry doesn't offer - like security, retirement packages, holidays and vacations.

Meanwhile, if one concludes that some disciplines - like maybe math and science - are not competitive enough, one may advocate the stranglehold unions have regarding comparative pay schools be ended.

One thing W Bush did well was describe the problem - soft bigotry of low expectations. He probably should have left the "soft" part out - the worse bigotry we have in society today is the idea that we cannot criticize behavior or even performance of those carrying politically correct identities - criticize a president and we're racists - criticize rioting and we are fascist - criticize single mothers and we're prudes - criticize illegal immigration and we're haters - all because we don't expect those folks to be able to withstand criticism.

Politically correct identities:?: :?:
Is that how ISIS came here while they close their eyes:?:
Or is it "Social Correct" BS that you cant ID the enemy because it may offend someone. :?: :?:

Government has not been correct since JFK died.
But we kept on thinking we can fix it. :(:(:(
It sure is hard to fix the things that are hidden.

You missed it. RAdience said isolate the Mexican kids and the black kids from the white kids so that the smarter white kids could excel instead of being dragged down by the dumb black kids and dumb Mexican kids. Offensive as hell as far as I am concerned.
