That's your opinion that it was in a disrespectful manner.....and I don't care what anyone else believes...whatever gets you through....do you care what others believe....?....as long as it makes them happy, why would you care ?

The evidence suggests that you are so dumb you don't even know how to spell the word "shit." I am hardly one of Obama's advisors, and I don't approve of everything he has done or probably will do.

I have never considered that dick, you are truly amazing!

If you were a modern rock band, you'd be "Talking Stool".

Nobody on here can talk shite like you can my friend. You must be one of those lobotomised liberals who retained speech & writing capabilities like Obama. I bet you are one of his trusted advisors, am I right?

I am interested, what do you think that John 14:9 means? I have thought about this for sometime, but still am not sure if he intended a physical likeness or if he was taking about his works. I would be interested in your or other's views on this.

Since the Bible says God is spirit It would seem to me that Jesus was referencing the works. However, as He mingled among the people I'm sure He also meant to look at His actions to see what the Father was like.

He also said I and the Father are one. In John 17 we find the real Lords prayer and he speaks of being one with His followers as He and the Father are one. To me this speaks of the indwelling Holy Spirit. IMHO.

For a little background, John 14:9 states:

Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?"

Maybe some cross-references might help:

John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 8:19
Then they asked him, "Where is your father?" "You do not know me or my Father," Jesus replied. "If you knew me, you would know my Father also."

John 12:45
The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me.

Colossians 1:15
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Hebrews 1:3
The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

1 John 5:20
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

All good points especially Col. 1:15 my bad for not doing more and better research. I suppose the original languages could taken into consideration. But being the image of the invisible God is rather clear.

Since Col. was written by Paul, I'm thinking some Jewish scholars are not to keen on his teachings. I have had a few Jewish folks from back on the AOL chat room days tell me in no uncertain terms their dislike for Paul's epistles.

Pennylinn would be a good person to check for a safe translation.
Thanks for your research.

You are right, we do not put that much faith into Saul aka Paul and I see a difference between Pauline Christians and the followers of Jesus. One day I will put it all down and send it to you for a sanity check. If that is alright with you.

The Jews are not the deceivers, the Christians are. God appeared to Moses for forty days and nights and commissioned him. According to the NT, Satan appeared to Jesus for forty days and nights and commissioned him. It was not the Jews who killed Jesus, it was the multitudes that followed him. Jesus wanted to be crucified because he thought it would fulfill scripture. It fulfilled nothing. He said, "Take up your cross and follow me". If the Jews had their way, he would've been stoned to death as a false prophet.

Hello Susan,

Welcome to OPP.

This is interesting, but I do not agree with you. For many reasons and perhaps we can discuss your thoughts. I am making a USER controlled portion to OPP that will be used for religion, not just Christian, but will be allow anyone to create topics on beliefs for discussions. Soon it will appear and I will, in the meantime do some research on your thoughts.

For now, I have to say that I think, as I do not know for sure, that you may be in error. Do not misunderstand, I respect your right to think and believe as you see fit, but for me to adopt the notion I will need more.

So nice to see Christians with testosterone, unafraid to be so worldly, which is enmity with God.

First are you replying to a comment, if so to whom? Second, if you are not replying to a comment, this is very cryptic. What Christians are you referring? On OPP on the Net, in your neighborhood???

Sorry, I am just confused.

Hi Penny. When Jesus died and went to Heaven, his name was changed to Lucifer, and he is Satan's counterfeit messiah. Both he and Satan (Adam the serpent) have been kicked out of heaven. Isaiah 14:12-17 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations: For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit..."

Sorry, far too cryptic. Though not everyone, especially you, falls under this umbrella, it was meant as a general comment on comments thus far. I am referring to Christians who find their beliefs far stronger than their heart, roughly 80%, in my crude estimation.

Susan,
Thank you for providing scripture that supports your thoughts. It is an interesting line of thinking and I will keep it in mind as I go back and do my research. I have not dismissed your view, it is just not the average line of thinking. So... I promise I will get back to you.
