The dems are saying that they will not negotiate, (will not compromise), unless the house passes everything they want, the way they want it.

Then they don't care about the constitution. That's how it is supposed it is supposed to work.

I am starting to wonder if either side does, or about us the people.

I agree. I think we just have too many uninformed or don't want to be informed citizens. "Gimme my free phone!"

I think we need a new political party called "we the people" who do not answer to any one but ourselves. We need a legal document that can be considered the law of the land that gives us the right to oust these self serving ass holes who are in charge right now. We would also need some kind of legal document that allows us to resist tyranny in any form. Oh yeah, we would also need a legal precedent that determines the way our government is supposed to look out for the people and in no way form an elitist governing body that is not subject to any law imposed upon the people.

Oh my bad, we already have all that. The constitution. the bill of rights, the declaration of independence. Why are we still letting these idiots do this to us?

The Dems don't want anything; the country needs a budget. Reps keep adding things they want and will not agree until they get those things. Boehner asking for conferees to discuss will most likely mean a lengthy shutdown, which will take an approximate 1.8 billion out of the economy every week. What is funny about that request is that the House Republicans were supposed to send conferees six months ago and never delivered.
I am not thrilled with Obamacare; it needs a great deal of work, and work, not just sabotage at every opportunity. Do you not think its funny that Reps are fighting so hard to keep millions from health care? That want to open the parks but not help poor children and the elderly with temporary funding; that's pretty funny.

Why do you think the Tea Party was started? They just cannot get any real foothold because they are a minority offshoot Conservative/Libertarian group of white people. Oh, yeah, and they cannot get 527, or is it The 501 ( c ) ( 4), tax-exempt status because of the IRS.

Most politicians, on both sides, more so on one side than the other, have forgotten the oath they took.

Presidential Oath of Office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Vice Presidential Oath of Office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

Supreme Court Justice Oath of Office:
"I, [NAME], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as [TITLE] under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God."

Representatives to the House and Senate Oath of Office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

In the Supreme Court Justice Oath of Office it clearly states "impartially discharge and perform all the duties" and yet each and every Justice on the bench was nominated and confirmed along political party lines. Think of the balance of power in the SCOTUS if Barack Obama is able to appoint a Supreme Court Justice before his second term is finished.

Unfortunately, that is not the case, they, the politicians and their staffers and associated leeches, are still working, if it can be called that.
