Why (and When) You Need to Replace Your Surge Protector
Surge protectors arent like diamonds. They have a definite lifespan. At some point, your surge protector will stop protecting your gear from power surges and become a dumb power strip.
Its difficult to tell exactly when a surge protector loses those protective powers and just functions as a power strip. But, if youre still using an old surge protector you purchased ten years ago, its probably long past time to replace it.

This did make me realize that we have had some incidents and mine could be at risk.
A new surge protector is much cheaper; yet another form of insurance.

Lacking the wherewithal to obtain a lamb without blemish and a proper altar, my burnt offering consisted of a roadkill possum on the spare BBQ grill. It seems Ooga-Booga not only has no sense of humor, he doesn't grade on a curve, either.

Between listening to the Alps crash and reading about the OK tornadoes a fried puter seems a small thing.
