Missouri Lt. Gov: Justice Dept. ‘Staffed With Marxists and Black Radicals’

On Monday, Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder accused U.S. Department of Justice officials of racism.
On Tuesday, he stood by those comments, saying that the DOJ was “fanning the flames of racial division” and was “staffed with Marxists and Black radicals.”
Kinder joined conservative host Steve Malzberg on Monday to discuss the Justice Department’s scathing report on the Ferguson Police Department, which found systemic racial and gender discrimination that used disproportionate tickets, fines and arrests of the town’s mostly Black citizens to feed its coffers.
After saying that he believed President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder were part of the “incitement of the mob” and were “encouraging disorder in Ferguson,” Kinder was asked by Malzberg if he thought there was more racism in the Justice Department than in the Ferguson Police Department.
“There is more racism in the Justice Department than there is in any, yes, than anywhere I see in the St. Louis area,” he said. “It is the Eric Holder and Obama left and their minions who are obsessed with race while the rest of us are moving on beyond it.”
He stood by those comments when contacted by The Associated Press on Tuesday, adding his belief that the department is “staffed with Marxists and Black radicals.”
“The Justice Department has had an interest in fanning the flames of racial divisions since the first day Eric Holder took office. So has this President,” Kinder said.
Missouri’s White Leadership

We likely wouldn’t be sitting where we are right now as a nation without Ferguson’s nearly all-white leadership in a majority-Black town, and the effects of that leadership representation.
*Disparity Index = proportion of stops/proportion of population. A disparity index of 1 indicates no disparity exists. An index above 1 means a demographic is stopped at a greater rate than its proportion of the population, while an index below 1 means a demographic is stopped at a lesser rate than its proportion of the population.

And while the DOJ’s report seeks to respond to the disparities—Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson, City Manager John Shaw and Municipal Judge Ronald Brockmeyer are three of at least six city officials to resign as a result of the investigation and report—Kinder is just one part of the gender and racial disparity that the State of Missouri has in its top leadership.

There are six elected officials in the state’s Executive Branch. All are white men:
Governor Jay Nixon
Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder
Secretary of State Jason Kander
State Auditor John Watson (appointed by Governor Nixon on Feb. 27, following the death of State Auditor Tom Schweich; previously Nixon’s Senior Advisor)
State Treasurer Clint Zweifel
Attorney General Chris Koster

Nixon has the ability to appoint the leaders of most of the 16 departments housed under the Executive Branch of the state government. Of those, only Department of Revenue Director Nia Ray (a Black woman) is not white.

Only three other top-level positions are women (all three are white):
Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Commissioner Dr. Margie Vandeven
Department of Health & Senior Services Director Gail Vasterling
Department of Natural Resources Director Sara Parker Pauley

The remaining departments are all headed by white men:
Office of Administration Commissioner Doug Nelson
Department of Agriculture Director Richard Fordyce
Department of Conservation Commissioner James T. Blair IV
Department of Corrections Director George Lombardi
Department of Economic Development Director Mike Downing
Department of Higher Education Commissioner Dr. David Russell
Department of Insurance, Financial Regulations & Professional Registration Director John M. Huff
Department of Labor & Industrial Relations Director Ryan McKenna
Department of Mental Health Director Keith Schafer, Ed.D.
Department of Public Safety Acting Director Peter Lyskowski
Department of Social Services Director Brian Kinkade
Department of Transportation Director Dave Nichols

I have a question, and perhaps you know the truth. The city officials in my town are voted in. Is that not the same in most if not all towns in the US? It the officials are voted in.... then it would seem that Ferguson voted these white men/women into their positions. So, if they did not want whites to run their town....why did they vote them in? And if they did not turn out to vote.... who carries the blame for who sits in the seats?

Aren't blacks a majority in ferguson? If so, then they voted for whites to fill those positions. That, or they didn't bother to vote. And who's fault is that. You race baiters really need to take a vacation.

I think you need to reread my comment. And I will be accepting of your apology for calling me a race baiter.

The mayor and police chiefs are voted into office. Other positions, such as city manager are appointed. If you do not like the person appointed, get a petition together to have them removed....ya don't burn down a town to remove people from office. That is cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Our town, and county officials are all elected. If people don't want to run for a position, then whose fault is it anyhow? Here no Republicans need bother they won't get elected, period.
Why is that an ignorant question? Please explain .

I wasn't calling you a race baiter. That should have been obvious from the context. Sorry for the mix up.

No worries. Glad you do not see me in that light. I have been called many things on OPP....from racist (which means that I am asking the right questions) to stupid, ignorant.....and so on. I should have thicker skin by now. But, for some reason your opinion of me and a few others... well they matter. So, thank you.

According to HL, all questions asked by anyone not a progressive socialist are ignorant. He is the font of all knowledge on all subjects. Of course, he has yet to provide a single article to read or comment on. His tactic is to enter a topic and become bullying, denigrating, and self important.

It appears to me that the Lt. Gov. has selective hearing because the Feds cleared officer Wilson. I also thought a message he did have that was worthy of debate has now been spoiled with an accusation he can never back it up with fact.

I had the same position as he did regarding the whole event was based on false eye witness testimony. However, now that I've seen the Fed report and listened to the citizens, I've concluded that if there was not a culture of racial harassment, the death would not have made it to prime time because the black St. Louis suburb would've been thinking "that's odd" instead of what we saw them reacting as, "SOS".

If the majority are black there and the police force is basically all white, the entire local government needs to be changed because they can't distinguish basic black and white issues. Sort of my same opinion of this Lt. Gov. who has an upside down view of racism.

I think what Peter Kinder was supposed to do was to point out how the Feds had a failure to properly prosecute or at least admonish the false testimony. At a minimum, explain some acceptable psychological legal precedent by which a false testimony to police investigators is dismissed by the Feds in a case that had national race relations implications.

Instead, this will embolden those blacks who already suspected most white government folks are racists.
