Sad that, if we choose to vote....it is for the lesser of two evils.
Washington is so corrupt now, I don't even think a nuclear blast could sanitize it!!

In no sane world is Obama the LESSER of any number of evils

You could be right.... there can be only one, and we may just have that one in the White House~! Thank you so much for pointing that out, Obama far exceeds the other runners up for the title .....

Remember back a few months when the conservatives wanted people to show identifications when voting?
Back then every single Liberal on this site weighted in with the problems with having to obtain identifications. They used excuses from it would be too much of a hardship for people to make a trip to the local motor vehicles with a birth certificate. It would be costly...... and it went on and on.... why this idea sucked.

Well, Obama has come up with another idea.... Mandatory Voting. Yes, that is right. It will become mandatory -- regardless if you are a citizen or illegally in the USA. "Disproportionately, Americans who skip the polls on Election Day are younger, lower-income and more likely to be immigrants or minorities, Obama said." So to get more democrats out to vote, he plans to make it mandatory.

I think mandatory voting is an excellent idea and, we all know, that only citizens have the right to vote. Illegals cannot vote. In the past, pre-registration was necessary. After that just voting was required - without all the ID imposed by the GOP.

The usual is a fine. I think that's great.

I only have the link I provided. But, it is not unheard of. Remember during the past two eletions, people were rounded up and bussed to voting areas by the democrats. Australia has made voting compulsory. In Australia, if one does not turn out to vote they have a day in court and are fined ..... hit in the wallet usually encourages compliance to laws. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-23810381

I agree, everyone should vote. But, I am wondering how the Liberals will defend this action.....if it is too much of an inconvenience for citizens to get an identification..... How much more of an inconvenience will it be to vote in every single election within your district. Or pay a fine or potentially spend days in jail.

Acquiring an ID was, in some cases, more than just an inconvenience. In some cases it was impossible. I can think of two reasons for the difficulty - financial and lack of transportation. I have already offered to bring voters without cars to the polls. My car is small but it's OK with me to take more trips. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I believe Republicans should be limited to only one vote per person and Democrats should be limited to only 20 votes per person. This would avoid any form of corruption.

Actually you are partly correct. Obama is pushing right now to allow noncitizens voting privileges. http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/03/07/obama-pushes-congress-to-restore-voting-rights-act/

There are a number of proposals that will allow those given amnesty by Obama all the rights and privileges of citizenship, and that includes the right to vote. Additionally, during the last two elections there were reports of many illegals voting. That is why many Conservatives proposed the need for identification.

So, technically Alicia, you are right but in practicality noncitizens have been voting in elections from the time we became a nation. Without some controls at the voting location, I am sure that too many noncitizens vote and probably more frequently than natural born citizens.

To prevent Illegals and the deceased from voting would require a national voter I.D. law, or all fifty states would have to individually pass a voter I.D. law.

Oh, I know, the White House will mandate the honor system, ordering all poll workers to "believe" each person presenting themself as a legitimate voter is to be believed without question or I.D.

So far all the Liberals that have weighed in has thought this new idea of Obama is absolutely brilliant.... but still think that having an ID requirement is too troublesome due to lack of funds and transportation. As yet, none of these brilliant people have said how a person will get out to vote when it becomes compulsory without the funds or transportation..... typical Liberal thinking.....
