Both sides have sold out to the corporations, it is just a choice of which corporation. Then there are the ancillary groups such as insurance companies, environmentalists, and unions.
For how many years have we heard the Republicans say they want smaller government? What have they done to achieve it?
How many years have we heard Republicans whine about the cost of healthcare, or education? And what did they do to fix it?
People are nothing but sheep following the party they think will get them the most, and never coming to the understanding that both will take you over the cliff.
