Yep!

Wow. I just heard a minute ago that the family of the young American girl held by ISIS has confirmation of her death. It is such a shame to see someone who truly wanted to help others killed like this. I figured she was already dead. I believe her name is Kayla Mueller. I pray for her family and loved ones.

Yes, so sad. Too bad she was in a position to have this happen to her. If I had a child who wanted to enter that region, I'd go to great lengths to prevent her going. A young man who does work for us replacing windows, is leaving for TURKEY for his wedding. He is marrying a girl from Turkey and they plan to live there. I wouldn't be anywhere around the Middle East, and I worry about him.

I agree. My Dad was blessed to travel all over the world helping to provide eyesight to the blind for free mostly in third world countries. But after 9/11 he said he was no longer comfortable traveling in Muslim countries.

Right on, rebob14. Thank you and the others who responded for your comments. As I am limited to time I can spend on OPP right now, the best I can do is try to put up a few topics I think might be of interest or that people might want to know about, if they already don't.

In short, as Pai also said, if you like the IRS, you're going to love net neutrality if the FCC votes to approve Obama's Internet plan. But, that's only the beginning if the government gets control of the Internet. God help us all if we value our Constitutional right to freedom of speech --personally, politically, and religiously. In communist and totalitarian countries, and in countries under Islamic law, there is no such thing as freedom of expression. Let's just hope and pray that Wheeler and Obama don't win this one!

Your dead right, if the government gets control of the internet I, well if you like your doctor, if you like your medical plan and the average consumer will save $2500. another chunk of your freedom does down the tub.

He acts like he doesn't know that monopoly is not just a board game. If you have a phone, you have choices!

"The public can't see it until after the commission votes on it." What happened to the most transparent government in history?

I predate bippys -- My children tell me I am "older than dirt".

With regard to Internet regulation, the power to regulate is the power to tax and the power to tax is the power to destroy. Does anyone believe that any government, whatever its philosophical persuasion, really makes things better by taking control?

The term 'regulate' also brings nightmares, consider our current implementation of governance. The congress proposes and establishes laws, of whatever dubious value; the executive approves and the laws are then implemented, by Beaurocracies, formulating rules, for those laws implementation. These rules do not reflect so much the actual intent of the legislation, but instead are based on whatever partisan, petty biases that are the beaurocrats' credo. This gives rise to the recurring unjust imposition of laws in areas they clearly do not belong and in the various horror stories of unthinking assaults on personal liberty with the punitive weight of government.

Thus, the only redress for the oppressed citizen is recourse to the courts; an action that can only be contemplated by those with deep resources. The rest of us suffer. The Googles, Amazons, Facebooks and Twitters will fight, the rest of us will loose and it is not at all certain the those fighting entities will win either. Declaring the net a public utility will ultimately result in thought control.

Orwell's 1984 has come and is implemented, Huxley's Brave New World is rapidly being accomplished by the welfare state's Socialistic control and the end result , as noted by F.A. Hayek, is serfdom for all.
