United Health Care IS the underwriter for AARP. If the free market is working so well-or can work well-as in supply and demand--howcum the price of oil (gasoline) continues to rise despite the supply level-hint-- the planet is awash in oil!

By elitist you must mean the Dems in charge now. Illegals do get by with voting that is how he won the reelection.

Absolutely GaryMickel 1955: There were a lot of snakes in the grass we were unable to control in both elections!

We would have plenty of oil if Obama would allow the pipeline to go through but he resists any progress on becoming energy independent.

Jetboy--Econ 101--tsk-tsk-tsk-without spending there is neither a free market nor a 'capitalist' economy. Austerity (as in decreased or no spending) is not the answer to economic recovery (Europe is currently discovering this). Without a healthy revenue stream--there ain't no nuttin!. So with capitalists sitting on unprecedented amounts of capital (profits) where is the heh-heh-heh-job creation?

for Gary Mickel:
Obama HAS let most of the pipeline go ahead for completion-only the part that presents potential huge environmental damage is being reviewed and thus 'delayed'. Next: the oil that will flow through it, once completed, will go to a TAX FREE zone in Texas for--you're gonna love this --heh-heh-heh- EXPORT! In case you didn't know--the United States is an EXPORTER of oil!

Obama didn't "let" the southern section go ahead. He has no control over it and it is going ahead in spite of Obama. Where is this tax free zone in Texas? Please provide accurate backup for this statement.

I have passed on joining AARP because it seemed that as an older person I would be seeking help that would in a way come from my children. Also I feel that there are way to many special interest groups.

Schuler: Until you stuff your Keynes logic and get on board with Friedman and Hayet - you are going to be pumping a lot of sand just like this current administration!

Geno35 Simply go to:

Factcheck.org and type in the question or questions you want answers to. There you will find unbiased and very thorough answers (with references) to just about all political questions of the day. This service of the Univ. of PA has a stellar reputation for getting to the 'heart and truth' of blather and blog!

You make your position clear...I don't know you but I understand your plight.

Things would be a lot better if this economy was not being stopped or slowed down by not providing jobs that provides revenue that pays the benefits that we use to enjoy.

The Republicans are favoring the rich to give them control in an Oligarchy controlled society.

Lets look at what they do. Don't tax the rich any more when in the past when they were taxed higher we had a more stable growing economy. They won't give out job bills, they want to profit by taking away Soc. Sec....do you think profits would go back to S.S. and if Wall St. crashed that they would pay the difference in checks to the recipient? Cutting $40,000,000,000 from food.

They now have privatized prisons subsidized by the amount of prisoners, privatised schools (if you could afford them).

They turned down going after fraud in Medicare they just wanted to cut back benefits.

They want to get rid of unemployment insurance, minimum wage, pensions and vacations. How then does anyone buy a car, a house? No job security. 430 filibusters by Sen. Mitch McConnell.

One positive item is there wouldn't be any credit cards ... how would you get credit, how could you pay them?

Supreme Court's "Citizen United", "corporations are people my friend".

If you think you would rather live under control of the rich who regard profits as their top priority and labor as a liability where do you think you would stand?
