I think he can actually get away with it. Even though citizens are armed, we do not have training or a proper command structure. Also there is the very real possibility that UN troops will be invited to help subdue the 'masses'. There is also something he can do that will be devastating to any armed resistance. It's called the mark of the beast. I'm not saying that he's the Antichrist, but the mark will effectively squash any resistance in it's tracks. No one will be able to buy or sell without this mark. We have had the technology to implement this for several years. I've recently read that they now have RFID tattoos, that can be read by a scanner up to four inches away. There is also at least one country that makes extensive use of this technology.

Unfortunately you are misinformed. In many cases the Congress (mostly Democrat Congresses) past the rule making part of law giving to the Executive Branch of government. The only power that Congress retained was the power to reconsider what the Executive Branch decided to enforce by voting to retract the rules by passing a real law.
In effect many environmental laws fall into this grey area and Congress is loth to vote in any rule changes les in the next election they are charged for being soft on polluters.

I haven't watched the Red Green show in maybe 10 years. I just checked to see if Netflix has it. It's only on DVD and I can't stream it. Darn.
