Talk Like An Adult Day

We have just had the worldwide "Talk Like A Pirate Day". How about we try a "Talk Like An Adult Day" at this forum? It could be a contest to see which side can correctly spell every referenced politician's name and go without personal insults and references to stupidity and mental retardation (I presume that is what you folks mean with the prolific -tard suffixes) amongst the fellow contributors and the parties they support. Are maybe only one-sided holds a little caucus/huddle to look like the "better people above the fray"?

OK, just joking! I will go back to reading through and skipping over all the personal attacks that add nothing to the discussion of the topics. I needed a break for a moment.

A valiant effort, my friend, but others have tried repeatedly to attain the level of civility you strive for in your post, and they continue to fail.

With Grace, maybe your pleas will be answered. I would like to think so.

I will not hold my breath while awaiting that moment!

To be arrogant, I 99.9% of the time do as you request. At least, my .1% is in foreign tongues. Does that count? 8-)

You cannot hold your breath. You would be unable to intake cookies, ice cream and tequila coconut milkshakes. :-o

I think that there is about 10% of the users that really get into 90% of the name-calling (especially if you exempt the intentional name misspellings to register disrespect, attempts at humor, or whatever irritation-inducing effect for which they were intended). Some actually say something on topic in addition to the jibes, but I think I had just gone through a whole page of "you-are, no-you-are". The waste of time must have triggered one of those parental nerves.

When I thought about it afterwards, I realized I probably owed an apology for a lot of kids.

If you continue with such food stuffs, your gift (rather than traditional dish ware, etc) will be a tummy tuck surgery. :XD:

Oh the, he said, she said, he started it, she started it and standing facing each other pointing fingers. You and I could do a whole thread for page upon page with such things. Hmm...perhaps we should consider such for an Aunti Saturday amusement "Chit Chat Forum"... N O T :!: :!: :!:

Actually, kids become bored more quickly with such behavior.

I will cut back when my belt no longer can handle the excess!

I had the foresight, however, to buy a 48" belt when I am only a 34" waist.

Perhaps, but I think it would be more appropriate to suggest that a number of posters owe the OPP forum apologies for their abysmal approach to "commentary".

  It is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY obvious you imbibed WAY TOO many coconut tequila milkshakes with such a suggestion.

After that many tequila milkshakes, I don't even care...... :XD: I wasn't referring to you, by the way!

I was referring to the overall forums of the OPP. Most threads sink to name-calling and insult-hurling. They also stray from the topic at hand. I am hoping for better with the title of this thread.

Alcohol induced hallucinations are scary.

I understood your comment was not personally directed.
