Can anyone fill in the point of the hearing? Was its sole purpose to give the parents an opportunity to talk about their lost offspring? The parents (I would not expect) did not have any extra information about what happened in Benghazi or the State Dept or the White House, did they?

The disrespectful behavior may have been a beautifully executed PR trap -- it does not excuse it, but it may help explain how career politicians could have been made to look so stupid and uncaring.

You are right. This scene has not been put into any context. When the Republicans didn't show up for the 50th anniversary of the March on DC, the coverage got statements from those invited admitting they had not shown up. It would be good to get a little more depth. Which is not saying it did not happen, but saying it was a purposeful slight seems farfetched. "We as Democrats want to take this time to dishonor the dead from Behghai and their families. Adieu, adieu, adieu to you and you and you."

Do you know if the Democrats have been routinely boycotting this committee assignment when the topic is the ongoing "Benghazi disaster"? If I was a conspiracy type (and who does not have enough imagination to not harbor at least a spark), I can see the Republican chair and his cohorts saying "well, I will burn their britches the next time they walk out on me!" Maybe if the Congress reps would actually read the agenda, they could avoid falling into such mudhole, but when you think governing is a thing of show business and grand gestures, you fail to notice sometimes the stagehands have moved the scenery.

First of all I voted for Matt Cartwright which was a mistake and won't happen again. These parents have concerns that should have been addressed. We elected and pay these officals to do a job and they don't. Vote them all out and start over. General George Patton was right "Politicians are the lowest form of life on earth, Liberal democrats are the lowest form of politicians."

That is not a quote from me.

I'm sure the Democrats walked out of the hearings because of the lies the Republicans used to have the hearing in the first place. Dirty Politics! http://mediamatters.org/blog/2013/09/19/watch-conservative-medias-favorite-benghazi-myt/195971

One news report about this issue I read said that both liberals and conservatives came and went during the event which lasted several hours. The coming and going was often due to different commitments that they had such as other meetings and votes and so on.
The source I read said the meeting was in two parts, first was military and government officials, then the families came in and said what they needed to say.
This source sounds more realistic as other hearings I have seen on the House and Senate channels of TV you do see different members coming and going.
Of course I feel bad for the families, but at least they got a chance to vent, many die for their country and no one on the official level does anything except send a letter to the next of kin.

Now isn't it amazing that your link only listed two Democrats that walked out on the hearing, but when I checked out over 10 websites, they all said that there were only two that stayed? Check this out for yourself if you wish. Hannity even said the same thing, but of course you, like all Democrats, don't believe a thing that FOX NEWS airs, do you? The one's I checked even said that the Democrat section was nearly empty, and two also included the same names that I listed.

BTW, why are you so down on Issa? Is it because he wants to show your president to be the phony that most of the world knows by now? Is it because he wants the world to know that all Americans aren't political puppets that some are? Are you one of those that could not wait for president Bush to make an honest gaffe so you and yours could make a production of it? But how come you and yours never seem to catch the stupid remarks that your idiot is always making? Even foreign countries catch them, but you Democrat puppets are so blindly in love with this imposter that anything he slobbers out is an act of pure genius.

SHOT WHO?????

I have no idea what you are talking about, lady. I have checked and double-checked my post and cannot find anywhere I said that anyone should be put in jail for anything. I did say that I thought every name on the list that walked out should be boycotted at election time, but that is pretty much the extent of my rant. Can you please bring me back to what I was supposed to have said about jailing anyone because I don't believe anyone COULD be jailed simply because they are a Socialistic, Communistic, Naziistic, un-American liberal dumbass. That is what our constitution is all about, along with the right to bear arms that these vermin are trying to take away from us.

The end of that quote from me, '...Pompous bastards that walked out, they should all be put in jail. They're all rude, evil uncaring terrorists' is not mine. I did not write those words. Unsure who was responing to me that added that closing comment.

I see you borrowed from the movie, Sound of Music, there and didn't even mention where you got those words.
