It seems to me that many Republicans, judging by their postings, remain toddlers for life. ha. I'll concede that many of us Democrats remain idealistic and unrealistic teenagers. It would be kinda nice (and kind) if some of the GOP toddlers matured to teenage viewpoint and some of the Democrat teenagers could grow up to be more realistic. Well, I suppose toddlers are cute and teenagers are promising--just that overall we need a little more generational balance.

Generational balance is dead in the water since the age of the iPhone, Twitter, Facebook, and a host of social sites. Times have changed so radically that it will take the unthinkable to renew a sense of balance, and the unthinkable is God and the Ten Commandments, both illegal in these "Divided States of America."

jonhatfield: your analogy just like your ideology; is typicial of the treat the symptom instead of the cause approach to the problems in this country. Open up free-market capitalism and watch the masses jump on the bandwagon!

If we had FAIR TAX everybody would pay the same rate, then there would be no argument from anyone.

But those fat cats would never pay anywhere as much as most of our progs seem to think they should pay. Rate is not what they are worried about when they say pay your fair share. At least not one of them has ever tried to explain what fair share is.

I just told you why they don't invest here.

If they are headquartered and registered in this country, they are not exempt from paying taxes just because they have an office or facility in another country.

if they post their profits in another country then they are exempt

Wow Bojester, that sure is an angry, hate filled comment towards people you claim are hate filled. Reminds me of that old adage of pointing fingers at someone. As a what did you call it "conservitard? I usually find that liberals are far more obnoxious and hate filled then we are. I think this stems from having such a closed minded attitude trying to rip through the open minded façade. It is funny to me that most conservatives I know are many times more open minded than their "enlightened" counterparts the liberals. It is after all exceeding easy to be right about things when you simply ignore anything that contradicts your beliefs as liberal's do.

I certainly agree with your comment bluejacket. The division between rich and poor has always seemed to be an objective for Obummer from the start in my opinion. Now that he has achieved it us in the middle class are stuck to carry the load. The poor are falling in droves onto government assistance programs (paid for by the middle class) and the rich are simply taking their money out of the United States so that they can keep it. This vacuum of funds falls once again onto the shoulders of the middle class.

What middle class do you speak of? It surely isn't the one that Obama has tried so hard to isolate while talking about saving that same class from something. Maybe he is trying to save that middle class from himself and doesn't know it. I would much rather think that he wants to destroy that middle class so as to take over from them and the lower classes.

I think he wants the middle class to be the only class, no rich, no poor, every one equal and dependent on the government. Socialism at it's best.

God had more imagination than to create totally identical chocolate chip cookies with the same number of chips in each cookie. Obama wants to spread the wealth like a farmer spreads manure; everybody's situation stinks. My plan is to not spread the wealth, but spread the responsibility. Big difference. 3-page plan albertmaslar2@gmail.com

hmmmm--sometimes 'braindead' really doesn't fit the commentary:
America is 'none of what' folks are arguing here!

America is a Plutocracy/Oligarchy!-forget Democracy/Republic/Constitutional something or other! Until the 'working class' comes to its senses and gains control of the nation--look for a box and a bridge!!
