Having read them, it is a yes and no. Each point brought up can go either way, for good or harm. Yet what is thoroughly absent in such neatly packed and limited views is the heart behind it.

Many thanks for posting the reasons, Hartbreaker.
I read through them and find I agree in every case. Each point is made with supporting evidence and seems pretty cogent.
Remember these 6 reasons represent only one side of the argument. I'd encourage you to come up with 6 powerful reasons why religion (not one specific religion, but religion as an institution) is beneficial to humanity.
Then we could have an honest debate about both sides.
