It has been concluded by research that opinions are based on beliefs not facts. And if a fact presents itself but doesn't resonate with some they will twist the fact so it better fits their preconceived notions.

Everyone did better. I was finally able to buy my first home , Couldn't do that with the 16% Carter mortgage rates and I wasn't rich enough to benefit from the high CD rates of the late 70s. Selective memory. I remember Carter taking over a miserable economy from Gerald Ford, who had inherited a terrible economy from "Tricky Dick". Ford actually had a campaign with "buttons" that read "WIN", Whip Inflation Now. I'm not saying the economy was good, under Carter, but he inherited a miserable economy from his two predecessors.
