PRAYER CHALLENGE

Last Sunday, our Pastor, told us about a survey done with Pastors. He did say they were leading Pastors, but he didn't say how many, and since I go to a non-denominational church - I am not aware of their affiliation. They were asked how much time a day they were able to spend in prayer. I'll tell you, but first the challenge - for the next two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) I challenge each of us to beat the Pastors' time. You can do it all in one sitting, or break it up over the day - AND THEN you are to tell no one because this is between you and God. The average time these Pastors spent in prayer was - you ready? You are saying get on with it or I'll wring it out of you - that wouldn't be nice. Ok, Ok - they spent 3-5 minutes a day. In my opinion, that really isn't much of a challenge, but try it and see, and tell the Lord only.

I grew up non denominational. My parents had fathers who were preachers in foursquare and assembly of god churches. I can honestly say its helped me understand the most important factor in this Christian walk and that is, my personal relationship with him had no bearing on which house of god I chose to worship in. The name means nothing. The point of knowing if they're spiritually in tune is, does it line up with scripture. If it doesn't then dust off your feet and head on down the road. God has a body for all of us to practice our gifts and talents, but mainly worship and praise God. Church is a hospital for those in need. That's why serving in a good church hones our skills to witness and pray with men and women who are seeking the Lord. Be prepared to step out and be Jesus to someone looking for a life changing experience. Pray for God to put you where you need to be.

Yes, milgrad, that's why I go there - I leave feeling fed. He quotes 8-10 sometimes more, related verses. It's up to you to write them down and check for yourself, or study them. He is adamant that the Word not be tampered with or pretend it doesn't say what it does. It was Assemblies affiliated, but they voted to be non-denominational.

And Yes, to Semper, that is pathetic. I said it really wasn't much of a challenge.

How can anyone, call themselves a preacher, a minister or anything such with a pathetic prayer record like that? He should be greatly shamed!

Last Sunday our pastor talked about that same story. He could not believe that leaders of a church could only find 5 minutes a day to get on their knees and pray. He did say it was a challenge but God puts those challenges in front of you to see if you will stay the course or if you turn and walk away.How can they lead their flock if they don't have the genuineness of wanting to do the Lord's work.

I'm glad you heard the same story - it seems incredible. I wondered if people would think I was losing it and got it wrong. See how the Lord verifies things for us - isn't He great!

Good morning all, May the Grace and Peace of Jesus Christ be with you all. Let us pray,
"In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit....Amen"

Lord Jesus may your blessings and forgiveness come upon us as we pray the Ancient Prayers of Solomon son of David, King of Israel and your servant.

A Song of Praise to the Sovereign Lord
The Lord reigns;
Let the earth rejoice;
Let the multitude of isles be glad!
Clouds and darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
A fire goes before Him,
And burns up His enemies round about.
His lightnings light the world;
The earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory.
Let all be put to shame who serve carved images,
Who boast of idols.
Worship Him, all you gods.
Zion hears and is glad,
And the daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
For You, Lord, are most high above all the earth;
You are exalted far above all gods.
You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
Light is sown for the righteous,
And gladness for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

Psalm 97:1-12

Three to five minutes on prayers is not really a challenge, for I try to talk to God as much as I can, I'm always seeking His Counsel. Some people think I am talking to myself, when in reality I'm talking to God. Its a good lesson in eve's dropping huh? Lol Anyway since this is election, mid term election day I suggest we pray for America more today so, Lord, pour out Your Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the Earth and America through the voice of us voters. Make the voice of the innocent speak this election day. Please protect the innocent, and those who defend the innocent. We ask this in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit....Amen"

In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, guide and inspire my words today. O Lord, I ask that You forgive our sins, forgive the sins of this nation, come upon its people and restore in them the faith upon which this nation was founded, that we may once again walk in the favor of Your light.

Prayer for
PSALM 97

The day of the Lord is coming, it is coming and He will reign in glory. Both beauty and fearsome power will surround Him. He will be the Light of the world, and we will feel a sense of contentment we have never before experienced. The angelic voices that sing praises to the Lord will have such a haunting lilt, we will want to cry one moment and be elated the next. We will see with new eyes, new in that all things will be brighter, colors will be more intense, the world will be new again.

Until that day of the Lord, have us be ever on guard for the evil one. Satan is putting forth maximum effort to gather all the souls he can. His intent is to distract and win over with whatever takes your focus off of the Lord. Lust for more money, more property, all evils of distraction - beware, beware. What he put before your eye will disrupt your focus, your thoughts will follow what you see, and that will affect your desires, attractive, enticing thoughts to take you away. Be on guard, be vigilant, do not be mislead.

Lord, You know the hearts of Your children, yes, we are children. How easily we can be distracted, with thoughts of what may need our attention. Our thoughts should be about Your work, but we find we are too busy to take time for You, how can that be? You are always there for us. Do we have to be shamed? Do we have to be challenged? Is that what it takes? A Challenge to make time for our Lord, how shameful. Is it so? How sad, we hang our head low. Catch our ear, Lord, turn our head so we see You.

We come before You, Lord, we desire a walk with You. We pray You will guard our eye and keep our focus, and our thoughts on You. The closer to the end the more alert we have to be. Let us not become complacent. Let us look forward to that day, the day You reign on earth among men, what jubilation there will be. The world will bend it's knee to You, You are its creator. It will be renewed and the world will rejoice - our Lord, our God, our King is here with us. He has come to reign forever Hallelujah, praise the Lord. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Yes He is! It is hard as humans to comprehend all the love, compassion, and understanding that God has for us. We as sinners should feel so blessed that He loves us so much!

You are right, Ranger, three to five minutes, you shake your head and think - "You've got to be kidding!" It is ridiculous, and I too walk around talking to the Lord, if someone over-hears - they may think I'm daffy.

I was in a store in Texas, this black lady passed me talking to the Lord - so I stopped her and talked to her. I was impressed, and that was my beginning of a trip talking to the Lord. You always hope it may put someone else off on that journey.

Prayer doesn't have to be on your knees. It can be used in looking in the face of someone who needs care. Its in helping the young person learn scripture. It can be in handing bags if food to families in need. Trust me prayer is unceasing. I go about my day in constant prayer. Our world bombards us with issues that affect us and so my mode is always asking God to protect, or go before those going into battle for Christ. Prayer is a constant. Our leaders press me to pray because our lives are in peril of being subjected to anti-Christ attitudes. Israel is being treated as though it militant and we must pray for Gods protection and blessings on her. Prayer is obviously a walk.
