Bombshell: Egyptian Media – Obama is a Muslim Brotherhood Member

Point taken. Have you ever been to Egypt? I lived among them for a time when I was in the military. Language speciality of Russian. Many Russian ships in the Med. Anyway, I learned many things from the Egyptians, and one thing that sticks in my mind is their ability to jump to conclusions. However, I never met one that was rude or knowingly told a lie about anyone or anything. Papa always said, in every story told by anyone; there is always a grain of truth.

This is an example of the way Egyptians are taught to think about current events -- the paranoid conspiracy of the week way of understanding the world. The Egyptians believe and trust nobody, and so they are really having trouble getting their democracy off the ground.

They lose, or never develop, any sense of what is implausible or impossible in political matters, so they have no way of telling what is real or logical.

In a way, they are good sources, since sooner or later they will say just about anything for a week or two, so you can quote them.

Our enemy says this about our president, and you, anxious for something bad about him, spread the word. There was a period in our history you could have been hung.

And, you point this out because?
Do you want dissenters hung?
Can you not tolerate folks that do not like your opinions?
You appear to be a hater. Settle down. Being a hater is not healthy.

ginnyt, with incredible self-control, I respond. When I meet apparently reasonable and thoughtful people like yourself, I expect dialogue. You offer none, it seems. I gave credit to Islam where credit was due. Put on your rose-colored or hate-colored glasses to look at what I said.
I am really weary of this divisive dialogue.

Islam's contributions to science and culture apparently ended around 1200 A.D. Much like Christianity, it became secular, and just as much of modern day Christianity has no basis in the Bible, so much of modern day Islam has no basis in the Koran. Mainstream religion of whatever denomination, just like mainstream media of whatever denomination, have become politicized and secular and convenient, whether you're a Sunday Christian or a Friday Muslim, or an amoral clown working for MSNBC.

And you side with a known enemy of the US to make this point? Looking to bring him down by inviting foreign enemies to be accessories is not the way of American protest. Yes, our remedies can be slow, look at slavery (no one seemed in a hurry there in the govt), but we have an honorable process to rectify wrongs. I know you and like you, a true patriot, but you are mistaken with this possibly seditious post.

Now what enemy am I siding with here? Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood when they were in power in Egypt - he supported Morsi. So, that can't be it. Obama is supporting Al Qaeda in Syria by supplying them with arms, in which he got four people killed in Benghazi in doing so. He is about to further aid Al Qaeda by bombing Syria. So, just who is our enemy here, I'm confused?

Posts like this can only excite bias argument, Just look at the information presented, It seems to me that most people do not either understand the concept of freedom or respect it.

Thank you for your incredible self-control. I have never touted myself as either thoughtful or reasonable. If this is the conclusion that you came to by reading my comments, well you will be surprised to learn that I do not view myself in such high esteem.

In reality you offered no evidence in the support of Islam, you just said that Obama had spoken the truth. This I find surprising in light that he did not offer any examples of his praise of Islam or the contributions that particular religion (Islam is a religion and not a race of people) has made to Americans or our way of life. He merely stated that we owe Islam for the basis of our humanity. He offered no examples or facts, he offered his opinion. Wherein I respect each person’s right to their opinion there are times when one should restrain themselves. Case in point, as the President of the US to praise any religion over another shows little or no concern for the separation of church and state. It has a tendency to alienate the other religions which are represented in the culture of this great nation. His continual support of the religion of Islam and his silence on the contributions of individual who are/were Germans, Irish, Italians, Englishmen, Chinese, Japanese, Jews (both a race and religion), and myriad of other societies which were and still are contributors to math, science, philosophy, to name a few, is offensive. His message of Islam (a religion) being a foundation or having great significance above all other religions does a great disserve to the people he was elected to serve. His words also raise concern for us who still remembers 911. Perhaps that has faded from some people’s memories, but for many, to include myself, who was at the Pentagon or the Twin Towers on that date, it leaves a very bad taste.

You have said in many of your comments things in support of Obama. I offered you in his own words that 1. He is a Muslin. 2. He is a champion of Islam. You complain because the entirety of his speeches were not in the video. I have reached out to my friends in DC and asked them to send me the entire speeches so they can be provided to you. I believe that this is more than reasonable. When they are delivered, it will be the complete speech without breaks or editing.
Thank you for your incredible self-control. I do ... (show quote)

Rumi is weary of the divisiveness , I am perplexed at the unreasonable accusations leveled at Obama , from the birther advocates , to the he is a Muslim , to him being a communist and once he was even compared to Hitler (which i found to be ludicrous ) at worst he is a mediocre president ,although much better than his predecessor

I guess you have never really done much research on the man have you? I suggest you put that computer to work and do some REAL research on the man and his background. If you do some real honest unbiased research you will learn that your comments are totally unfounded. Plus, you will learn what he really is (hint: Marxist).

BTW, Obama was a Muslim when growing up in Indonesia and he has admitted it.

He is NOT even close to being a mediocre president, he is an UNMITIGATED DISASTER of a president! He is not even qualified to pack Bush's lunch!

I said do some UNBIASED RESEARCH! You haven't done any real research...either that, or you're blind.

If you really want to know what Obama is all about, and where he came from, read "Barack Obama and the enemies within" by Trevor Louden. But, then you're not interested in knowing any of that, so I'm sure you'll never read this book. What a shame.

You define yourself as a REAL AMERICAN and implicitly Obama and anyone who disagrees with you as not, right there you make the rest of your post useless.

Why don't you read Mario Cuomos ,I came to believe, it would help, you a lot, and your unbiased research is nothing more than that research that you agree with making it biased research

His self control which you mock is actually noteworthy. You rightly claim to be neither thoughtful or reasonable, Bombastic and contentious would be better descriptions of your post than thoughtful and reasonable especially to what was an overly respectful post and not deserving of your diatribe.

While technically incorrect the usage of Islam to encompass the culture, yes should be Islamic culture, even among Muslims as they view Islam as covering all facets of life, not just religious beliefs or observance (yes this is like fundamentalist Christians one of its al bad points), is quite prevalent you know that but insist on splitting hairs. What distinguishes Obama from others and annoys you and others so much is that he actually recognizes the contribution of Islamic culture in its more refined forms and notes them, not as part of an axis of evil speech, but as an outreach to what is a neglected fact in the mainly white Judeo Christian community, others might see it as worthwhile as opposed to wanting to see it as evil as part of their continued vilification of Islam. When some others talk about it, and implicitly in your comments, Islam or Muslim is a code word for evil and the other, next step Obama is a Muslim an other and therefore Obama is also a terrorist.

You mention 911 in a post on Islam, like Bill O'Reilly, before corrected, do you find Islam or Muslim (not Muslin as you say in 1) above as a synonym for terrorism such that you raise this in your post? So therefore Muslim Obama is a terrorist by further extension of the lie he is a Muslim to begin with.

BTW, glasses is sometimes used as a synonym for viewpoint, so even if you don't own any glasses, rose or hate colored or otherwise per se, better check your glasses!
