I don't think history is taught in school anymore, except for politically correct revisionist fiction. Actual US and world history seems to have been supplanted by "multi-cultural studies" and for all I know, underwater basket weaving. Most kids graduate high school today with the equivalent of what was considered a 7th or 8th grade education when I graduated.
Sad but much truth, much I find in college classes can be easily taught in high school and middle. Multicultural should be started in elementary with opened, unbiased minds to be able to consider the differences and commonalities we all have.
