Navy Rob-do not believe a global war is imminent unless we are talking about an economic war. What we do need to fear is that the dollar will lose its status as the worlds trading currency. The fact that the dollar has enjoyed that status for years is what allows us to print dollars which are not backed by anything except the full faith and credit of the USA. China, Russia, India and others are now working with each other to facilitate trade using their own currencies as opposed to everything being denominated in dollars. If currency from another country were to replace the dollar as the preferred currency for trade we would then have to resort to producing goods and services in the amount of what we spend as opposed to printing some 65 billion per month to stay afloat. I may be wrong, but to me that is more dangerous than conventional war. China is rapidly gaining on us economically and militarily and may well surpass us in the not too distant future. Downsizing our military and frivolous spending has put us in a tenuous position and we need to wake up before it is too late. When Social Security, welfare and disability checks stop be issued there will be a dire reckoning not to mention government retirement checks. So its pay me now or pay me later but Uncle Sam needs to tighten its belt and regain some fiscal common sense. Good Luck America !!!

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.
