Seperating Religion from Politics?

I've heard discussion that we should not allow a prayer, invocation or benediction at conservative meetings. The reason given was to not alienate atheists or agnostics.

My belief is that we should do the opposite.

I've prepared a one hour talk supporting my belief with over 100 slides in a power point that I will send to anyone who will present it (after their review and concurrence) to others.

Not just agnostics and atheists, but also people of other faiths. Usually the folks who want to have prayer in school would want a Christian prayer, and would not want a prayer from the Koran. We keep prayer out of public school to avoid favoring one religion over another. Seperation of church and state made America different from theocracies that were always fighting over religion, like Europe during the middle ages and during our country's founding. Since we cannot get God on the witness stand it is better to leave religion out of political life
