Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
If you claim to be a Christian and you believe the government has no authority or obligation to regulate an individuals personal behavior, you are in violation of Leviticus 19:17. We have an obligation before the Lord God to prevent people from sinning. We have totally forfeited this obligation ever since the Baby Boomers launched the Sexual Revolution, and our society has disintegrated accordingly.

Why do progs always use books of the Bible from the Old Testament? I wonder because I have always thought of the Old Testament as a history of the Hebrew people and all of it was written before the birth of Christ.

The OT was written by Christ, i.e., God, and not all of it is history.
