It seems purposeful,,,,, it isn't the act of singing,,,, it is the organized and theatri-cised performance, by the teacher, and approved through a willing bureaucracy of the district, that abolishes religious songs, censors graduation speeches prior to approval, for no Christian messages, or suspends a girl for saying "bless you" for another student who sneezed,,, because it is "God talk"
It is completely understandable that he and many others find the system dictatorial, and sycophantically inclined,,, even, yes, into "worship".. it is not outlandish...
Excessive,,, maybe,,, but it still, doesn't mean it isn't true, or valid, or what others experience.... you benefit currently, because it is going a way you don't mind,,, if it goes the other way,,, and when the govt gets that power, it will eventually come after something you hold dear,,, I am sure you will feel his oppression.. but because you didn't resist the govt oppression when you were able,,,, you might not have the chance.. it HAS happened before,, ergo, his allusions to Hitler and Germany.

Wait so children volunteering to sing at a school assembly is worship? I've lost track of the point.
