A number of whiners and complainers who constantly post a lot of crap here are always demanding "term limits". Which is never going to happen in congress.
But the stupid people should realize that there is term limits already. It is called voting for another candidate.
But as this article proves, the overwhelming number of incumbent republicans and democrats will be re-elected.
Some because they do a good job, some because they are popular with the majority of their constituents, and some because of gerrymandered districts and all because of money.
So the bitching, whining and moaning will continue right after the election, and nothing or very little will be accomplished.

I agree with term limits for senators and congressmen but not for governors or the President. Here's why:

Senators and congressmen not only represent people in their own districts but also millions of other people who never voted for them and are therefore not accountable to them. They also become more powerful in other ways the longer they stay in office, e.g., becoming heads of committees with a lot of influence on national and foreign policy. Presidents and governors on the other hand are accountable to all those and only those who are able to vote for them, which in the case of the President is everyone. Their powers don't change over time, so it doesn't matter if they get re-elected or not. At the end of the day, if the people feel they've been in office too long all they have to do is not vote for them again.

The best form of term limits is to vote them out, whether it is Boehner, McConnell, Gowdy, or Reid, Pelosi and Hoyer. Too bad so many would rather just whine, cry and complain

This goes back to what I said earlier. The only ones who can vote out the people you mentioned are the voters in their districts. Nancy Pelosi for example represents a district of just one city which overwhelmingly re-elects her every time because there's never anyone to oppose her and the voters are overwhelmingly liberal. The other 300+ million of us are stuck with her whether we like it or not.

The same is true for Boehner and Gowdy, but ole Mitch may be in trouble this time. Good riddance to the slime.
Maybe Franken and Cruz and Paul should be one termers as well.

Vote ALL incumbents out, every cycle. Gowdy is no different than Pelosi or Boehner, so out he should go.

That's ridiculous. Why don't you leave that to the people in his district? Personally I think Gowdy is the best thing to happen to Congress in many years. He's practically the only defense we have against Lois Lerner, John Koskinen and those other crooks in the IRS, and he'd make one hell of attorney general. So I say let them re-elect Gowdy as long as he's capable to doing the job.

With that attitude, that is exactly why Pelosi, Boehner and Reid get re-elected, time after time.

You just proved that voters do not want term limits for THEIR representative.

Much easier to whine, bitch and moan about everyone else who should be voted out. Hypocrite on display.

It might seem like I was being hypocritical because on the one hand I said there should be term limits for congressmen but then I said Gowdy should be elected as much as possible, so I guess you kind of got me there. However, even if there were term limits I would want Gowdy elected for as long as possible. You can't possibly put him in the same class as Pelosi or Reid. Why not keep the good and get rid of the bad?

The only problem I see with it is the rigging of the vote. I think that's why you see alot of them staying in office for so long.

Phil, I liked your thought about term limits but the president must be subject to the term limits too. There will always be a large number of voters who are not represented in gov by the people they voted for. That block could number 155,000,000. I didn't vote for bummer but, I am stuck with him.

Modern day democrats steal votes, buy votes & help many vote often. They keep key areas voter ID FREE & bus voters from other areas over & over & over...this is an Obama thing from his Chicago days...He may not have won either time if it had been honest...

Has anyone read the (new America constitution)? It has term limits in it. It's crazy.
