The problems we are seeing are coming from Capitalism doing what Capitalism does best. Putting wealth & power into few hands. Hands that keep getting more wealth & using that to buy more power.

Too many at least on this site see the good side of Capitalism & fail to see the bad side of it.

That is where I blame many. Not seeing what truly is happening & defending what is based on what was.

Each day that passes sucks the life blood out of the system into their hands.

If the way of life that most of us seek is what we wish to keep we need to slow down those that are taking so much from the system. Yes they are taking it & changing the rules to keep more of it.

As I see it those that wish to see Capitalism still continue much as it is in this Country need to pay the workers more of pay more in taxes on the riches people. If that means me so be it.
Our system of economics coupled with our governmen... (show quote)

We are making progress. Now I know what you stand for. Let me begin by asking you if you think things were different in the past. Were the good old days better? If they were better give me specific years and why they were.

Do you think the greedy were less greedy back then?

Floyd Brown: We have an old saying in the Military: " The beatings will continue until moral improves!" The same holds true for Capitalism...the socialist encroachment on the free-market has taken its toll! Until we free the Captains of industry or as you might think "Robber Barons" plan for more market decline and inflation! Its Socialist Barons like below that destroy true free market!

All those who believe that true free market capitalism is at fault should read Why Nations Fail and The Road to Serfdom. What we have now is closer to a collectivist socialist economic system that it is to capitalism.

You are exactly right. Because government is involved in every aspect f business due the it's stretching of the commerce clause, and high taxes, business is not expanding. 15-20% unemployment is the norm. The welfare state will collapse. Immigration is going to play a significant role in this demise. What we are being told about effects of immigration is nothing. I can see no studies that are all inclusive of demographics during the next 3 decades. any model that does not include worldly competition, immigration (costs of, {welfare}), energy (a lack of & costs relative to world wide competition) jobs.

In order to put a good business plan together, competition has to be analyzed. So who is in competition with the American worker? The other part of the world. As the government forcible takes more and more of the profits of companies there is less and less for investment in business to create more jobs and you can bet they will leave these shores. It's already happening. By the way, my forecast is just as good as any other.

A gap between the rich & poor by it's self is not the problem.

Some having more than others is not the real problem.

It is just that those with so much they buy the government is what is bad. Using the extra wealth they have to control government to get even greater power & wealth is the problem.

In the early years of my life the better off & the less better off lived & inter-acted with each other & most people felt they were a part of what was good about life.

I think people look back at the good old days as being good for the most part because they (as most people in this country a least) had enough of the things needed to get by & only few had more. The good life seem to be in reach for most.

Now the gap is so great & those life's for the most part never touch.

Believe it or not I agree with much of your argument. It is your solutions I disagree with. Obama and the Democrats have messaged that the rich are bad and they will fix it. They will tax the rich and give to the poor.

That is not the solution. Under Obama the wealth gap got bigger. What they have done is control more wealth using the government and they have doled it out to their supporters.

Those supporters are not just unions. Liberal millionaires and billionaires who pay to play. They have merely shifted the money to the rich who support them. The more money they get, the more they can do that.

The Robbing Hoods take care of themselves and their good buddies.

When did the government begin taking more and more of company's profits?? Last I heard companies had generally become increasingly profitable. Again - where is there 15 to 20% unemployment?

Do you really trust your sources?

The last stats I obtained were Bureau of Labor, 2013. More than 75% of the jobs created in 2013 were part time, mostly of the "want fries with that?" variety. As far as creative bookkeeping, if you stop receiving unemployment for ANY reason, you are deemed employed. If you never received unemployment, for whatever reason, you are employed. If you get a Disability Check, you have a job. If you are one of the millions who have had their hours cut from full to part time, you are counted as full time. This is how they have managed to get the unemployment stats down to a mythical six point whatever percent. Black unemployment has doubled under Obama. The number of Food Stamp recipients has nearly doubled. The price of gas has nearly doubled. Beef is up 25%, and the average family's buying power is down by about 10%, I think is the figure. Some recovery.

I'm sure you will agree with my assertion: If elected officials had to take a polygraph and an intelligence test before assuming office, there wouldn't be enough of 'em left in Washington to form a softball team.
