I had a childhood friend commit suicide. As a teenager, she had been diagnosed as paranoid-schizophrenic. Overall, she acted quite normal, but she would come up with strange thoughts. She read Jung, and understood his writings. She wasn't ignorant, but she had no faith in her intelligence.
I would like to offer a thought here - when someone has reached that depth, we have no idea what torment has brought them to that point. What demons Satan has sent, and how he has helped them rationalize their decision. I, too, believe it is a sin - but WHO AM I TO JUDGE!
