Help me with some definitions, please

i am an old man and it seems that I have failed to learn what some very important words in the Englih language mean. For some reason I have been hearing the word justice used over and over by the Governor of Missouri and the protesters in Ferguson, Mo. crying about justice for the Brown family. What in hell does justice mean? It seems that in their way of thinking getting even with the policeman is what justice is. They don't seem to know that justice for the policeman may not satisfy them. I keep hearing them talk about justice now and it seems I just don't know what the word does mean. Can anyone here explain what the word means?

In case the word has more than one meaning maybe when Obama uses the word talking about the latest murder by beheadig of an American citizen he means something entirely different. I think justice in this case would be the total destruction of ISIL, if necessary through massive air attacks on their concentrations. I wonder what justice means to him since he made his declarations about the event and then went out to play golf. Does justice mean, a major perk of the President?

Help, please.

Today justice is whatever the media and the politically correct deem it to be. These are the advocates of a "Living Constitution Theory", they change it's meaning to fit their daily needs and wants.
Will the looters in Ferguson ever be tried for stealing other peoples property, I doubt it, but what awaits the police officer in this fiasco is a kangaroo court. Tried in the media and officiated by "I'm proud to be an activist" United States Attorney General that once said that he had to look after his people. He hasn't realized that his job is to protect all the citizens of this country. Thomas Jefferson said "When injustice becomes law, then rebellion becomes duty." That may be the only justice we will ever see again.

"justice" has different meanings, depending on context. Justice for retirees, whose life savings were wiped out by criminals on Wall Street, means massive fines paid to the Gov. to finance further "meting out of justice", which will mean more fines - none of which will be used to replenish their nest eggs.

"justice" for the 9/11 bombings means, twice as many deaths of our youngsters, as died in the WT center and 5 times as many innocent men, women and children.

"justice" for criminals in this country, means that there are more laws protecting THEIR rights, than there are for their victims.

To me when different factions use the word justice it means just us. To me true justice means, not making assumptions before gathering all the facts. We do not receive real news, we just get propaganda. I doubt we will ever know the truth about this situation.

Are you saying that the protesters in Ferguson continually calling for justice are the ones who define the word? Did the Governor really define it when he said they needed to have justice and it would take vigorous prosecution to get justice? I think that Nixon has realized that he put his foot in his mouth when he made those statements from what he read from his teleprompter. Vigorous prosecution? He meant that for that Grand Jury he wanted to declare Wilson guilty of murder.

I would call justice letting Wilson's eye socket recover before they go after him.

I have posted a story about another police shooting a few days before Brown was shot. It is the first time I have heard that story so I guess the media was more heavily involved in non-reporting of that one and it must have had to do with race. It seems that the man in Salt Lake City may have had a white father from the name, Taylor, and his mother maybe being Hispanic. I think that when the blacks and their leaders in Ferguson make their noise the media jumps in to help them out.

Just us sounds so much like what justice really does mean.

What you and I call justice, and grew up believing was justice is a thing of the past. Politics rules everything in the world of political correctness. Through apathy and down right laziness we have allowed the inmates to run the asylum. Keep your weapons clean and your power dry, you are going to need them.

As long as they don't bring too many guns along I will be able to hold them off for a while, anyway.
