I'[m not necessarily for more aid to the Ukraine, especially how the war is being prosecuted now. However; the Speaker can't be held "hostage" by one person of either party.

I wouldn't give Ukraine another dime, until the border is secured and the deportation of illegals is priority.
It's called politics. Compromise.
And real common sense.

Very true the Speaker should not be held "hostage" by any member of congress.

You can see her point two ways IMO. Is it bullying , or is it holding someone to account for their promises, which he broke.

Which is the only way anything will get done legislatively because the Republicans have such a small majority and a hostile press. Personally I don't believe a congress has to write laws to be considered effective. IMO an effective congress would repeal lots of laws.

That is the Republican way . I know former state senator Ken Messerly - He said his job was to repeal every law he could and prevent new laws from passing .

Think about it Tom. Our founders were against government overreach. That's what many laws are. The Democrat way is to pass more and more laws, restricting our rights and funding all kinds of things with other peoples money.

Many laws and regulations have been passed with unintentional side effects..And it seems that at some point the most well meaningful legislation gets exploited by either regular people or in a few cases entire industries are able to use loopholes to be able to thwart and game things in their favor...And can cause overreaching and excessive requirements also..we should find a balance and common sense needs to be utilized in many cases

We need the environment to be protected and I am all for doing as much as possible... though it seems like there are times when the greater good needs to be done..There was an incident back a few years ago when a water treatment plant in upper Chicago needed to update and expand due to human activities... however there was an endangered species of cattail growing in the marsh that was deemed more important than people..I can better understand protection of an animal as opposed to a certain plant when disruptive action is needed for the benefit of many people...
