We aren't.

A more polite and respectful word for "stupid" could be "unwise," "foolish," "unintelligent," or "ill-advised." It's important sometimes to use language that is considerate and empathetic towards others yet "stupid" is useful when showing disdain.

Here's the thing - I don't call people morons or @$$holes, or idiots or any other childish names.
I try - most of the time - to make statements of fact backed up by article links to government departments, respected organizations or news sites.

I wrote for a local newspaper for years and still write the occasional press release or history article.

I admit that sometimes my irritation at the statements made and insults used by way more than half the people in the MAGA group get under my skin after awhile.

If you consider me pointing out the difference between 'to' and "too" or "their" "there" and "they're" insulting... I can just about imagine how much fun you were for your teachers to have in class.

It isn't even stupidity. It's as though people of this stamp are proud of speaking or writing in a way that makes them look or sound uneducated or ignorant.

Not having a chance to learn is one thing. Having had a chance to learn and refusing not to is determined ignorance - which can carry over into every aspect of life.

Some of the people on the Right insult the leftists who post stupid Comments, not necessarily calling people who support Biden as stupid, although their support for such incompetence and harm to our country is highly suspect.

You JUST called people "stupid", "uneducated" and "ignorant" (!!)....and you call people "MAGA" (and don't try to tell us it's not an insult - you mean it as one when you say it - - even your username is an insult!!!)...and you call people "irrational" and unintelligible and other words that are insulting to people here, too.

And then you come back with all those words to try and walk back all your insults!!

If it's THAT important to you, maybe you should not do it in the first place! 😢😏

And saying that "you do it, so I do it too" is about as lame as it gets when you're wrong and don't want to admit it.

Get off your high horse - you aren't all that....

I walk nothing back.

Do you understand that ignorance is not an insult when people show it to be true??

That is just childish.

And why is MAGA an insult? I understood that all the MAGA folks were proud to be MAGA folk?

By the way - I noticed after I posted it that I made a mistake in the prior answer to you.

If any of the MAGA people can find it, I'm happy to apologize and say you are not as ignorant of grammar and spelling as I thought.

Cool. On another topic I was lamenting the poor quality of leftist contributors on OPP. Now I see we have a professional writer amongst us. Of course this will raise everyone's expectations. I hope you can handle the pressure and live up to the buzz you have caused.

These words that offend are used as shorthand to convey disdain towards evil, including people, agenda and philosophy.

It seems so long ago when America raised respectful citizens, where we could tolerate opposing ideas because they didn't slip out of bounds into the utterly ridiculous and morally repulsive. We've become a decadent nation, lawless, and a place unfit to raise those children who survive the abortion forceps. It is notable to recognize this horrible change is not the handiwork of Coservatives. It is the intentional creation of the consciously immoral Left deceiving those with weak characters that accepting evil is a positive act of "tolerance." So we're reduced to using harsh words to show our disdain and they're soooooo offended. Great!

Don't you think it's all happening very quickly?!! It seems like it's happening almost in a flash, relatively speaking, to me!

Drag Queens weren't "accepted" like this ever before - and in children's schools and libraries???

And the Pope condoning gays and trans??

Trans women bouncing (literally!!) all across the White House lawn, while the gay flag hangs in equal standing with the American flag? And now they can go wherever they want to the bathroom - either the Men's room OR the Woman's Room!

Our southern border eliminated and people from all over the world flowing unchecked across into our cities and towns.

Kids being taught things at school (like how to change their genders) without their parents knowing?

Sending billions upon billions upon BILLIONS to a war we didn't start, we won't end, but will pay for?

I could be wrong, but it sure feels like there's a lot of danger around us all of a sudden...the kind you can't see and hear...
