I am sick of dumbasses . I had a small confederate flag on a tee shirt that I wore and my wife washed it dozens of times and never paid attention too it . Then the media hype hit and she threw a perfectly good work shirt into the garbage instead of the washing machine . I also had to prove to her that my Tennessee state flag was really not a rebel flag .

As a lifelong Liberal I agree with you Tom I too am sick of dumbasses in all Parties especially Mine. This is ridiculous I am not the sports fan Aggie is but this stupid culture war crap has gone too far. To have problems with an American Flag on any article is beyond stupid! I am sorry that this is going on. Being with Aggie I have learned more about southern history then I ever knew. He will fly the actual Flag of the CSA and not the BattleFlag. He has that flag given to him by his dad before he passed away 10yrs ago. That flag is in the Man cave hanging proudly. He has told myself and our daughter that he has ancestors that served in the CSA and were at Gettysburg and other major battles. While we lived in PA we went to tour not only Gettysburg(a 45min drive from Harrisburg), Antietham in MD and the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. None of my ancestors were even in the states until 1880(Italy and Poland) but my daughter's father's family had Union soldiers who fought at Gettysburg. I have no problems with southerners who are proud of their past even though they lost the war. I don't agree with tearing down monuments. I agree with Aggie that these monuments in southern cities should be moved to any number of civil war battlefield sites and not scrapped because a small group got their feelings hurt. I support recognizing civil rights for everyone black,white, brown, polkadot, Gay etc. Screaming every southern white is a racist today is STUPID! This is a serious problem that the left of my party needs to get over. So to AllMy fellow Democrats especially the extreme left...GET OVER IT Yes the North Won and preserved the union. Yes the biggest followers that display the trad.flag recognized as the Confederate Flag are Republicans. Many are followers of Mr Trump and the MAGA faction. They are Not Racists. Their ancestors (most of them) rebelled not to support slavery but State's Rights...PEOPLE Its 2024 Time to Move forward and accept what happened between 1860-1865. We need to avoid anything like this from happening again. Both liberals and conservatives need to come together.(Being with a Proud Texan and Rebel the last 6yrs has shown me that they are proud of their history and they are not racists.) They are not in 2024 responsible to pay all blacks reparations(spelling??). Aggie's family as afar as he knows owned no slaves (they were too poor and were not in cotton country he told me).

The earliest record of my family in North America is 1536 . my first Indian grandmother was named Marie Oliver Sylvester who was.given that name and educated by Nuns in Montreal . She married the first regent of Normandy who was also a military officer .
