I would love to hear the correlation from the MAGA point of view.

How does the Titanic not hitting the iceburg relate to fixing Social Security by adjusting the funding formula? Even you must see your idiotic remark misses the point.

Unlike you, I can actually explain in detail what I find problematic with your words. If adjusting the funding with Social Security was as simple as you think it is, it would have been done decades ago. You suffer from that Obama consequence free syndrome where you assume that all you must do is wish something, and shazam it comes true with no costs. Barry Obama thought he would magically solve health care costs by willing it to be so. The economics of solving the problem meant nothing to him.

The taxes for Social Security have a cost on the economy. Why are the tax rates currently at 6.2 % for wage earners and the same for their employers ? Essentially 12.6 % in total. Here is another relevant fact. When Social Security began the tax rate for wage earners, in January of 1937 was 1 %, and employers also 1 %. Why was it not put up to the current rate at the beginning ? In 1960 it was still only 3 %.

You have no clue what I am talking about. You know nothing about history or economic consequences. The higher you put the rate up, the more drag on the economy. Why do we even have other deficits ? We have them because actually putting the taxes up to a high enough level to have no deficit, would crush the economy.

Here is a thought, since you think raising the rate has no downside, why not raise it to 50 % ? Everyone will pay 50 % of their wages to Social Security, and their employers can kick in another 50 %. As that idiot Occasio-Cortez might say, gee that was easy.

I just explained why your thinking does not work. Instead of simply calling my remarks idiotic, as you have been, why not in detail lay out where I have it wrong ? I double dog dare you !

What does any of that explanation have to do with the Titanic hitting an iceburg? You just explained my point. Throughout the history of the Social Security program, the funding was increased as needed by adjusting the funding formula. It has been a simple fix.

The Affordable Care Act is another brilliant welfare program introduced by President Obama. The GOP keeps yapping about repeal and replacing it. So far, a better replacement plan has not been discovered. The ACA helps millions of people get the health insurance they need.

If Congress hadn't taken the money from the Social Security Fund and used it for other things the amount of money even if it didn't earn interest, would cover the cost for people who had spent years paying into it.

The Social Security fund invested in US Treasury Notes. The interest earned on this safe investment helped keep it solvent. FYI. Current workers' contributions to FICA pay for current payouts to retirees. It is easy to understand why the funding formula needs adjusting over time to keep up with current economics conditions.

It's not "my MAGA concept". It's called common sense, something leftists don't have.

It's not "MAGA" common sense you dolt. It's good old God-given common sense. And since you keep on insulting me you can forget about me explaining it to you.

Here is something I don't understand. Why do proud MAGA soldiers feel insulted when the MAGA slogan is included in a discussion. Isn't MAGA common sense the same as "good old God-given common sense"?

I am failing to make myself clear. I pride myself in making the complex understandable to anyone who wants to listen. Since it can't be me, it must be that you do not want to listen. But I love a challenge. Let me put it yet another way.

You cannot just keep giving away free stuff. Eventually the slackers get too greedy and the producers of wealth get smart and stop producing. You good folks on the Left love to cite the Scandinavian countries as success stories of how socialism can work, whilst we who are right cite Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela as horrible failures.

So lets us look as your success stories. Those countries are more and more realizing the failures of Socialism and moving in the opposite direction.

Social Security is a timeless program, serving the American people well in all types of economic environments. The Social Security program has become the most successful, most popular domestic program in the nation’s history. According to SSA estimates, 97% of older adults either receive Social Security or will receive it. I don't believe you can describe old people who are on Social Security as "greedy slackers". Can you offer a better or more "complex" program that could replace Social Security?
