I don't think it's a gateway drug at all. Some people are simply more drawn to hard drugs than others and it's typical for them to discover weed first because weed is so commonplace.

Do you actually realize the irony of your moronic statement?

Don’t you love it when people say “I’ve been doing it for 30 years and I know it’s not addictive!”😏

But I could say coffee is an addictive stimulate, the more you drink the higher the tolerance, so you drink more and more but then you can't get that jolt anymore. You hear about speed. You find some and get that jolt back and the cycle continues until you're a meth head addict living on the streets.

That is a bit no no no. That is a HUGE stretch from coffee. I don’t believe I have ever seen that happen

LOL. I'm sorry. I was trying to be "out there" with that. That's pretty much what I say when people go nutz over pot being a gateway drug.

It pretty much ends the argument in shocked silence then comes the What the HELL are you talking about?????? Lightens the mood.

Not saying anyone is going nutz, I just like to throw that in there once in awhile when gateway drug is mentioned

Again, I was being light hearted with that. I should have thrown in a laugh emoji or something.
My bad!

You're saying that you are not saying anyone is going "nutz" over pot being a gateway drug, right after saying people "go nutz" over it....do you realize that?

I am not "going nutz" (it's spelled nuts, btw, since you like to correct other posters spelling) because it is a gateway drug. I am stating a fact - it IS a gateway drug for some people - especially if it is laced with something that is very addictive (!), and you can find a lot of information about it in many places.

And I am not saying something that isn't true. It is commonly known anything that is mind-altering - such as alcohol, pot or any other drugs or 'substances' that take you out of reality - can lead to addiction of 'harder' drugs, such as cocaine and meth, etc.... and drinking alcohol can lead to alcoholism.

Making it sound like it's 'nothing' is denial. It is a drug that was illegal everywhere until just a few years ago....and it is still illegal federally.

There is a reason for that.

I said not everyone is going nutz since I don't normally call out names.

Miss Emily. I spell nutz like that because I like to.

I have never said you were going nutz over this. I have agreed with you about it being a gateway drug for Some and not others. Noone is disagreeing that pot can get laced with stuff. On the street. We've been discussing dispensaries.

I know all about addictions. I'm an/was an alcoholic. I drank about 1 quart of vodka a day at the end. I ended up in ICU for 2 weeks from liver failure and they weren't sure I was going to live. I did but had to learn how to walk and eat again. So don't lecture me on addictions. I've forgotten more about that then you would ever know.

I think this discussion is over since you are just repeating yourself.

Have a lovely evening

Or the tax advantages! I think it might be the highest tax rates in the country - 16% - 20% in most states now!

The federal government will be legalizing it next once they see that they can make megabucks on it...and they LIKE it when people have addiction and health problems from it! That's big bucks too!!

And it's much more potent now than it was then! THC is a great controlling agent for the masses. Get everyone hooked on dope, and then the controlling begins....I can see it now: you can't buy it unless you vote Democrat! 🤔🙄

Not at all. You're just repeating yourself to me on things I've already agreed with you on.

Just don't lecture me on addiction, ever.

If the government wants to make it legal and charge 50% tax on it, good for them. Less people will be able to afford it and less for you to worry about. Kids will find drugs if they want them. They always have. As YOU suggested, put security in schools, teach them at home and make sure they have no reason to want drugs.

So quit lecturing me on something I know a hell of alot more about than I think you have ever "read"

If you've got more to add than what you already have, a couple of times, I'll be more than happy to talk to you

You think that was "lecturing" you? On your addictions??? Wow! Interesting!

Just don't push drugs on a public forum, whether it benefits you or someone who is sick or if it's just someone who just wants to get high for no reason - it could harm someone else! And you have no idea what or how I know about this, missy, and I doubt VERY much that you know more about this than I do!!

First off, I've never said you were lecturing me on My addiction. You really couldn't have known I fought one since it's the only time I ever posted anything regarding that. I just got really tired of being told about it. AFTER I agreed with you it could be a gateway drug for Some.

If keep throwing "facts" around at me isn't lecturing........

I told you my story with my addiction so you'd quit with Telling me about them. If you find that interesting, then cool, I guess. I just happen to know alot more about them than a person that has never gone thru one. Alot of study goes into getting better. Do or did you have a destructive addiction to know so much about it? People you know don't count.

Do you realize your entire conversation with me started with a comment made stating today's pot stunk. It had an herbal smell back then.
I responded to go to a dispensary. There's alot of different smelling strains of pot.

Then somehow it got jumped to me encouraging drug use and sh** about addiction, Fentanyl in pot, etc.

I've never Pushed drugs on anyone. NOONE ON HERE HAS!!!! I commented on it's used for pain, PTSD, nausea, etc. I just disagreed with you about the use of pot among Adults regarding recreational, or medical reasons. I've never condoned kids using drugs but also know that if they really want it, they'll find it. Under bleachers or the neighbors, wherever.
I've agreed with you on just about everything you have said so if it's just an argument you want, fine. I can do that, too.
