It was hard to find enough qualified workers however, because in addition to original drug tests, random drug test were mandatory It is a hard job requiring people be alert and functioning, otherwise it is easy to kill people other than yourself. Now thousands are laid off and are not able to get jobs, yes they are on unemployment for longer than they should be, and jobs are available, but require some additional education, in addition to being sober. Miners come in all colors, by the way and the strike breakers in the original union mine wars were black, and most stayed on and work in West Virginia their grand children and great grandchildren still live in the coalfields areas. The mob mentality has not yet infected the black people in the coalfields, hopefully it never will

Does it not strike you as inconsistent that the police state is on the minds of conservatives, but when American citizens rebel against the police state shooting an unarmed citizen, all of the sudden conservatives are backing that same state?

We live about 30 miles south of St. Louis and they haven't released the details about much of anything yet.

Of course Al Sharpten is in town stirring the pot along with the president of the NAACP. The only people really speaking about non-violence are the young man's parents and some of the black people that live in the area.

The people they have arrested as looters don't even live in the area. They all have previous criminal records. All these people are doing is destroying other black peoples neighborhoods and businesses.

Every one loses when the mob mentality takes over.

I wasn't disputing their being thugs, I was disputing that they were "legitimate" protesters. (As opposed to thugs using the shooting as a pretext to loot.)

And just what do you think gives you the right to determine what anyone "deserves" as pay. The person writing the paycheck and the possible employee are the only ones who should be part of the negotiations. I believe YOU deserve one dollar a year for your work, but that should not get in the way of your attempting to negotiate what you THINK you are worth with whom ever wishes to hire you.
