I work in the field of workers compensation. Heat related injuries and deaths are one of the most common claims especially in states where the temperatures reach the sustained heats experienced in Texas and Florida. Contractors who do not provide shade and water breaks are the fools. The cost of the claims that ignoring those hazards will incur will amount to twice the cost in increased premiums than the cost of a ten minute break and a paper cup. What it shows, though, is the utter contempt for people who work that is held by both of the bastards who signed this disgusting legislation.

Isn't funny that the usual trump supporting magas get so upset when both desantis and abbott take pride

in signing these bills into, and the magas can do nothing but complain because the information was posted.

But the cry-babies will be complaining when worker's comp insurance rates increase.

And the never ending greed factor and taking advantage of workers who need those jobs is their primary

concern.

Where is McCarthyism when we need it?

The Spanish have a pretty good system to beat.summer heat. Approx 1 or 2 pm they shut down everything and come back about 4 pm to finish up their day.

Same in the Caribbean.

Kill or maim those who are doing the work to keep food in the grocery stores and then bitch about food costs. Don't worry. You will not be asked to join Mensa.

Perhaps you entertain fantasies that you WILL?

More trolling. The south gets hot. Southerners get used to it. Get out in it and adapt.

Troll alert

That's odd; my Basic Training company, including a handful of women, managed to survive a very physical training regimen in July and August way down south. I guess people in the seventies were just tougher. We also held it as an article of faith that dying was preferable to getting recycled and having to do it again. It's called motivation.

The usual suspects, texas and florida, both with idiot governors and stupid voters, ban heat safety requirements.

Because safety may interfere with business.

Why isn't this surprising?

Of course abbott and desantis spend their time in air conditioned offices and SUV's

Please read what was banned. It was the government imposed REQUIREMENT that ANYONE working outdoors for pay MUST wear heat safety gear. So the handyman who barely makes enough to feed himself and keep his truck in gas, would be required to spend big bucks meeting such requirements which he can't do so can no longer do outdoor handyman work.

There is no ban on heat safety equipment. There is a ban on the government requiring everyone to use government prescribed equipment.
