Think back to the days of Mikhail Gorbachev. He was a man of peace and vision. Russia was an emerging republic. Socialist, but they had put the failure of communism behind them.

NATO is the threat to Russia and it was Gorbachev who was lied to about NATO not expanding east into Ukraine! Tell us how lying about this is peaceful gesture. Ukraine and Russia lived in peace for decades so tell us what started the end of that peace!

No, russia and Ukraine did not live in peace.. the two areas have a long history of war.. then the USSR enslaved the Ukraine for generations.. at least two time Russia signed treaties giving Ukraine the right and border which Putin violated..When the cold war supposedly ended, Russia again guaranteed the nationhood of Ukraine and the borders were outlined in exchange the atomic bombs were to be disposed of with the help of the united states... Putin first invaded parts of the Ukraine in 2014 after years of threats to do so.. he placed parts of the country under control of Russian puppets and held limited participation elections to claim the areas wanted to become parts of Russia.. when trump was in office he gave putin all he wanted and Putin did not have to fight a war any more, with Biden in office the appeasement ended and just like that the Puten war was back on the map..

Putin is the instigator and enemy of America and all of Europe.. he is perhaps one of the two most evil criminals in the western world.. if he is not contained the invasions will never end..

According to the New York Times there was 30 years of peace between the two! Russia invaded parts of Ukraine - WHY?? Gee do you suppose to save the historical ports in Crimea that housed his black fleet?? Russia tried in the early 90s. The west didn't want them in their party, and they needed an enemy to justify the military industrial complex. China wasn't anything back then. So, you can say we created the enemy out of a country that wanted peace.
