Ri-chard, There is enough proof that the covid vaccine either stops covid, or makes it much less serious. The military can't afford to have a disease spreading among its members. That caused many, many lives during World War One. It was caused by the Spanish flu.

COVID shots are not deadly. Without a COVID shot, you have a 20% chance or better to be disabled by long COVID. I can understand why the armed service thinks everyone should be vaccinated. I think refusing a COVID shot should get you an immediate dishonorable discharge.

You can find this on the web if you just search for it. There has never, ever been a vaccine that causes any type of side effects two weeks after injection. So if they have not had any ill effects, they are safe. They are also safe from getting COVID. That was the point.
