That property back there has been vacant for 20 years. Apparently, this cocky jackass bought it, and is going to build a house there. It's 10 acres bordering my 5 1/2. 3 frigging inches this guy is talking about. I now, have to dig out the survey papers from when I bought this place 33 years ago. That fence was there when I bought the place.
I'm madder about his attitude than the 3 inches. And, now, I'll go full blown Caitlin Jenner before I move that fence!!
Lol!! I LITERALLY had a 3 pound hammer in my hand when that dude stormed around there, and started in on me like some kind of intimidating badass. It was really kind of funny. The accent, the bravado, the balls, all that.
The deputy was pretty patient with him as well, while attempting to explain to him about being trespassed from my property.
I dunno, we'll see how he does. I'm thinking he didn't move into a friendly neighborhood.
This is Texas. We're a little different here. You push, we'll shove.
This could be fun!! 😁
That property back there has been vacant for 20 ye... (show quote)

Hey Arch, have gun will travel.

The most important part is Mrs.B does not like him. One does not mess with a southern woman.

It seems that I have a new neighbor to the West of me. I didn't know it until today. I was outside doing some work when I noticed an orange stake at my back fence, so I went to see what the what. A guy, prolly 200 yards away on the other property is yelling, and waving at me. I waved back, and went about my business.
Long story short, the guy showed up at my front door puffed up like a Banty Rooster, talked smack to my wife (I was out back), and then came to where I was, and came at me with complete attitude because he claims his survey shows that my fence is 3 inches over his property line. He talked funny, so, I asked where he is from, and he said New Hampshire. I tried to be reasonable with him, but, he's DEMANDING that I move a little over 600 feet of fence that's been here for over 40 years.....3 inches.
This guy got so loud, belligerent, and demanding that my wife called the Sheriffs Dept on him because she thought it might get physical. This was a two hour ordeal over 3 inches of fenceline.
Is everyone from that part of the country that way? If so, stay there. Otherwise, you might try to bully someone with less patience than me, and catch a hammer upside the head.

been watching too many zombie movies have we? I believe after 30 years he's SOL the property is yours. Write him a note telling him not to bother you or your wife and to stay off your property, better yet have your attorney do it. Then you can take action against him and settle down you are in the right.

Why did you build it on someone else’s property .
Here you are again blaming the victims.
For your own lawless behavior.
So typical of the right today .
And speaking of hammers,
I would make you move it to where it should’ve been in the first place.

Well, sir, now that you've run your mug, I reckon you belong to me, and I can take you behind the barn. I'll only move your shoulders, and hips a few inches. I now have that right because of your ignorant, stupid post.

He is trespassed from my property by law enforcement. If he lets one hair of his head cross my property line, he goes to jail. If I don't shoot him first.

Update:
I found my original survey, and researched the laws regarding these sort of disputes. I've got this!!
If this fella would not have tried to be a bully, he wouldn't have the problems he's about to.
There has been an illegal dump site on that property for years. The county has been notified.
Let's play.

I forgot to answer your original question. Our neighborhood found Californians to be the most obnoxious.

You should check your reading comprehension. Archie said the fence was already there when he bought the property.

I don't know about far NE NewEngland but I lived in Southern PA for 4yrs and we had very nice neighbors on one side and one character on the other side( ). Across the alley we had very nice couple from Puerto Rico who invited us over for BBQs once COVID restrictions eased. So maybe far NE thy may be very stubborn. Damn 3inches???thats pretty anal IMO arch.

Lots of Noo Yawkers and Joisey peeps in New England. They're the east coast answer to Californians; just as clueless and more obnoxious.

Best of luck Arch.

If all else fails, check into the de minimus laws in your state.

I would suggest padded walls for your personal space.
