In other words, engage brain before putting mouth in gear.
This is why we bought you books and sent you to school. What do you do with your education? You treat it as if it is frivolous.

Just kidding. He doesn't read books.

Food is temporal... Jesus is FOREVER!

You're just being difficult here. Nicest way to put it. I would prefer a different way, but, times are different. People are sensitive. So, you have to work with what ya got. I'm trying to have a conversation with you, and, you seem to be VERY combative, condescending, and disrespectful to what I'm trying to say.
If I'm sitting on mass acres that are paid for, (I own them) taxes paid, and all. Those acres are worth 10 million dollars, but, I OWN them, and choose to let them be, that value adds to my net worth. Right?
If I choose to barter, and trade with my neighbors, and other folks, that is just simple trade. Right? Yes, I made $400.00 selling that horse to Ed down the road.
Should I be required to report that cash transaction to the Federal Government because ownership of that land makes me worth millions?

Are you in a state that doesn't assess real estate taxes Arch?
Where we are in upstate NY, a homeowner with a house assessed at 200,000 will pay between 4k and 6k annually for school, village, town and county taxes on the assessed value of that house. There aren't many homes in this area worth 7 figures, but taxes on one would be unbelievably high.

None of you seem to get it. Sigh.......
Property taxes are assessed by the county, state, whatever. Thats fine. So, if a person owns a piece of land, whatever the acerage, that land is worth money, right?
Personally, I'm tired, and done with this circular argument with this self righteous individual.

So you're saying food is more important than salvation eh?

G'night then. I asked the question because the idea of someone being wealthy but with no income would (imagine italics on would) be improbable in NY.

James said it first.
Not that it's more important, but if you want to save someone's soul, you need to take care of their physical needs too, and maybe even first.

You first. You were the one who claimed that James said food was more important than salvation first.

I already explained it. You told me I didn't understand it. What's your take? Why would someone listen to you if you didn't take the time to get to know them first, and help them if they needed help?

I'm not wealthy, but, I can live a long time with no income.
Depends on your lifestyle, I guess.
One of my grandads died a multi millionaire, lived in a hovel. Paid for stuff in cash till he died.
Just to simplify this even more.
Let's say that I own thousands of acres of land, multiple properties in town, all paid for, taxes paid on all of them. Worth multi millions altogether.
But, I live a simple, humble life, and saved money for later. I live off of money saved, but, have assets worth millions.
Am I a rich man?
Oh yeah, then there's the thing about how I sold Eddy down the street a lawnmower, so that's income.
Nevermind.....
