Today I received a letter, two copies in fact. It demands me to send to them various documents supporting my witholding on line 25d of form 1040SR. W-2, W-2G, 1099-R. I pay a tax preparer to file electronically. I have never ever had this type of request before when filing electronically. I called my preparer and have an appointment to fix this mess. My preparer tells me this is not a big deal, and she will fax them the paperwork they require once I bring the letter to her.

What is getting me angry is that in the letter the good folks at the IRS state that once they receive the documents they demand, it will be another 6 to 8 weeks until they send me my refund. I should have already gotten my freaking refund by now. So is this a tactic by the IRS to delay paying me the money they owe me ? If this was the other way around, I suspect that I would be subject to interest and hefty penalties.

Maybe you should be angry at your tax preparer. My tax preparer includes copies of my W-2's and 1099's when he sends my tax return to the IRS; this was they don't have to ask for them as they already have them.

Tomorrow I will be meeting with the preparer. I am sure this is an IRS issue. Years ago when my old preparer retired I had a real mess which I caused, and this new preparer was able to fix my problem. Again I will blame the IRS and Joe Biden.

As for persecution, there are many mega rich, not just conservatives who have a persecution complex, avoiding their fair share.

Hey Dip $hit there is no such thing as "paying your fair share" when spending is this far out of control.
