I watched a video of the container ship plowing into the bridge and collapsing it. I wondered why there wasn't a tug guiding the ship.There was a pilot on board. I don't think he prevented a lack of power or was able to steer the ship at all. My take on this is shit happens. The shipping company that owns the container boat will be held responsible, but I think they will go bankrupt due to the accident. Accidents happen. That's life.

It was no accident. That ship could have steered under the bridge instead of knocking it down. Just because it lost power it was far enough away to avoid collision as they have two to three ways to steer the ship in case of lose of power. It was a black Flag Event and two more bridges went down the same day. This blocked a major port that will hurt the US immensely.
