The taking of Israeli hostages by Hamas, while being completely unforgivable, was a response by Hamas of a long held practice by Israel of taking Palestinian women and children as hostages. Why does the West turn a blind eye on Israel's hostage taking, and focus only on Hamas. Indeed, one of stated reasons by Hamas for taking hostages in the first place, was to facilitate a release of those hostages held by Israel. This is a case of the pot calling the kettle "black".

People don't want to read any more, sound bites and headlines are about as much as their span of attention can handle. They need to be told what to believe, that's easy for them than research... Children are not taught to read and then quizzed on their deductive thoughts on what they think they read by creating a book report.
I find there can be a big difference of those schooled up to the 60s for many basic disciplines no longer encouraged with students in the 80s, 90s and 2000s.
