No, ma'am, I don't think so, as evidenced by the below post and my response:

Lily, I have been using quotes since I joined OPP over eleven years ago. Whenever an opportunity arises to use a pertinent quote, I'll continue to use 'em.
Sanctimonious Nah, just another plain speaking, hard-nosed Texan.
Nah, Mogon, you're really off-base.
Quite frankly and thankfully, I'm really not at all like you.

This sounded fishy to me so I did a search for "preparing to say goodbye by Clint Eastwood". Looks like Fact check.org says that this is circulating on the internet and it is not by Mr. Eastwood. They went on to say that stories attributed to famous people often do circulate, especially during election season. One should check sources when it looks too good to be true.
I didn't have to fact check it, if Clint wrote it crooked bullshiter would have been in his description

I guess, in many ways, not unlike you.

I will Hate to see him go.
When Clint leaves us, a statue should be placed in D.C. with all of his words as he he said them for all to see what great really is🤠
I haven’t watched any of his movies since he spoke to an empty chair during the Obama McCain election. His comments about President Biden are beneath him. Fact is he won’t be around and doesn’t care what we will have to put up with if ‘what’s his name’ is elected.

I agree with you JSmitty . The Democrat party has absolutely moved too far to the left just like the GOP has moved too far to the right. I was a Republican until 1992 when I saw that the GOP had moved too far from the middle. The problem is what can we do to find politicians who will serve us and not special interests. Yes I also see a need for a 2 house legislature. We need a new opposition party that is NOT left but is MOR fiscal conservative supporting a smaller federal gov't. But also one that understands there are social problems that need to be addressed at the federal level when the states can't or won't do it. We do need to do better absolutely. How do we do this is the question.

Our Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they limited the power of the Federal government, and left the powers to the states.

There is no language beneath POS Biden.

Exactly, I don’t like Trump’s bragging, and always about me speeches, but I did like his policies, we were much better off during his term as president, Biden is trying to bankrupt all of the middle, and lower class. The rich politicians, both parties, have no clue about the cost of groceries, I am sure most don't even go to the grocery store, especially Biden, and Jill. We pay for all their groceries, maids, etc. I would love to see all these politicians have to live off a low, or middle income for just one month, better yet, let them live off a social security check for one month, they couldn’t do it. At least most had a little more money at the end of the month when Trump was president, and praying he will be again. Gas over $3.00 a gallon, and expected to get to $4.00 soon. These politicians don’t understand when fuel prices go up, everything goes up, because it has to be transported, plane, truck, train, etc. We need to oust these career politicians, and get everyday folks with a brain in office to fix this mess these rich politicians have created, before it is too late.

What an outstanding idea. Now, let me explain my reasoning.
With technology, Congress does not need to be in DC daily. Truthfully, they want to be in DC. It is very easy to avoid answering to your constituents if you are rarely in your district or state/Commonwealth. It is much easier to hobnob with lobbyist if you are right up the road from their offices.
They could spend one month, per quarter, in DC working from 8:00AM till 5:00PM like real workers do.
While home, they should hold a monthly townhall. None of my elected officials have held a townhall in, minimally, six years.
As an aside, check out the price of dinner at The Palm in DC. On any given evening you can find a multitude of elected officials having dinner there. I will not bother with the other two favorites.

I like your idea Aunti as more and more of us choose to work from home. Why Not Congress doing the same. I also like the idea of monthly townhalls like is done now for those seeking office but not yet in Congress. On your other mention I can only guess the price of Dinner at the Palm is out of our price range. So for many one meal could provide a working family of four for 2 weeks I would think. I think we will look for the nearest Golden Corral or Waffle House...
