She and her staff run the gamut of collective and personal incompetence, scandal, and misadventure. This came before Kamala Harris became America's first Female VP, but in watching it, the series could have been modeled after the Harris Vice Presidency. Perhaps they merely predicted it.

Not sure. I only saw 4 episodes and they were well into her Vice Presidency. The incompetence and constant drama in the scenes I viewed reminded me of what I read about the drama in Harris's office. The staff is a mixture of one good staffer, and about 5 lunatics. The difference between fiction and reality is that Julia Dreyfus's character had a knack of pulling out successes when all seemed lost.

The best Vice President Kamala Harris has done is to shut up, slink away, and be forgotten about after embarrassing herself.

I focus on the series. She did not make her character very noble at all. Like Dreyfus, Selina Meyer is a great actress. Vice President Meyer is a cynical, immoral, chameleon who can instantly morph into a noble Saint when the TV cameras begin to roll. Her staff is in constant crisis mode because her unstable personality means there are no long calm time periods. And most of her staff will stab her in the back as soon as it is convenient.

She eventually prospers because, like Vice President Harris, none of her mistakes are fatal. Plus all of the other DC bigwigs she works with and competes against are not any better than her. Their sudden failures present her with opportunities to overcome her stumbles. You get the impression, if there is any accuracy to the real Washington, that our Capital City is far more a cesspool than a swamp.
