Dear Lord Jesus may your blessings come upon us as we pray the Ancient Prayers of David, King of Israel and your servant.
A Psalm of David.
"Mans Treachery and Gods Constancy
To the Chief Musician. On an eight-stringed harp.
A Psalm of David.
Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases!
For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
They speak idly everyone with his neighbor;
With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
May the Lord cut off all flattering lips,
And the tongue that speaks proud things,
Who have said,
With our tongue we will prevail;
Our lips are our own;
Who is lord over us?
For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy,
Now I will arise, says the Lord;
I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.
The words of the Lord are pure words,
Like silver tried in a furnace of earth,
Purified seven times.
You shall keep them, O Lord,
You shall preserve them from this generation forever.
The wicked prowl on every side,
When vileness is exalted among the sons of men." Psalms 12:1-8
It amazes me how an ancient prayer could be so righteous and apply to today's problems, O Lord, Hear our prayers.....
For Christians all over the world especially those who are dying for their faith I will pray in the words that Jesus Taught us in two different languages:
"Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
In latin we pray,
"Pater noster qui in caelis est,
Sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua,
Sicut in cælo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie.
Et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
Sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem;
Sed libera nos a malo.
Quia tuum est regnum et potestas et gloria in saecula. Amen.
Lord, remember us, your children and protect your children from the evil that has befallen us in this day and age. Remember, Lord Jesus, your promise, "I will be with you always" Come forth, my Lord, and renew the face of the Earth. Amen.
