We have the same thing here. Years long battles. It has always been, squatters rights is ancient.

I have yet to understand why people have considered NYC such a jewel.

There is not enough money to entice me to visit or reside there!

Absolutely unequivocally not!! If I had to move to a northern lifestyle, it would be Newport, Rhode Island, and somebody would have to pay me a hefty hefty hefty sum to do that.

Our summer family compound, on the James, may not be as showy; however, we do not have to put up with squatters, and other such issues, and has suited us our family for over 75 years.

That is why the river compound is so great. We are not near any major metropolitan areas. 99% of the area residents are long term family groups. Once a season, we have a traveling dinner. Dock to dock, appetizers one place, soup next, salad next, fish course, meat course, cheese course, dessert. It takes hours, but no one family has to provide the whole dinner.

I am overly fond of New England clam chowder. We were in Newport and went to this little place. I ordered the clam chowder. The lady said; ”You’ll have to wait for the boat.” We waited for the boat. NEVER have I had, before and or since, such glorious clam chowder!!

I'm with you AuntiE. Rhode Island is a beautiful state. Even been to the Bristol 4th of July parade? How about a nature walk at Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown? That is our absolute favorite!

Historically, NYC has never been free to be an American City in terms of "American Justice" because it has been dominated by the self-righteous royalists" of Manhattan who look down on anyone who works for a living.

Yup in cally after 5 days u have to evict! Also have to name them all! She needs to sell it and get them out !! Or bring in hells angels to share premises!

She should have gone to her house, changed the locks and waited inside. When the squatters broke down the door to get in, she shoots them as home invaders. Problem solved.

You see how the BLUE state of NY has weaponized lawfare against Trump. Just what do you suppose would happen to this woman if she did as you suggest? ANSWER: She would be arrested, thrown in jail without bail, and tried for FIRST DEGREE MURDER. Her defense of home invasion would be totally ineffective and the jury would sentence her after 5 minutes of deliberation to life in prison, if she was lucky!
