Good. The Europeans need to step up to the plate if they believe Russia is such a threat.

It has been 79 years since the end of World War II. It is well past time for Europe to pay for and manage their own defense.
As to Putin being a threat, maybe or maybe not. There were agreements made concerning NATO membership for countries surrounding Russia. Those agreements have been violated. If he is a threat, it is to Eastern European countries surrounding Russia’s borders. The Russian economy is to dependent on European purchase of gas to militarily threaten them.

Because you think so doesn't make it so. I don't believe you know Putin personally.

Considering his background, it is highly unlikely anyone truly knows Putin. From the perspective of trying to determine his future behaviors, the US nor NATO are unqualified to do so.Their minds are already made up. It is a glaring error!

As I see it, years ago we had to threaten NATO just to get them to pay their dues. Okay, enough of then, are they obsolete? I can't remember a time when they haven't been. Putin a threat? I wouldn't invite him to dinner, but no. NATO is much more of a threat, they aren't powerful at all, but they act as the Pentagon's (ELWNJs) minions. And they are often sanctioned by the CIA. I don't play the links game so don't bother.

Do any of you remember when NATO countries came to OUR aid after 9/11?
Or is this a case of collective amnesia?

If one studies history, we rebuilt Europe after WWII. Somehow, that may be substantially more than anything they have ever done at anytime. The US has subsided NATO for decades.

Yes, NATOis obsolete and has been for 20+ years.
No, Putin is not a threat to the US

I don't remember any NATO countries sending us financial aid.
Some came willingly, others were coerced. None were needed however.

So, amnesia then.
Some of the NATO countries even helped in the War against Terror - in Iraq.
They didn't have to. We didn't even ask them to. They just did. Maybe they considered it all part of the response to 9/11.
The US was not the only country who lost lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.

https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_51977.htmQuite obviously many countries had an interest in the 'War Against Terror'. They were 'helping' themselves as much as they were helping others.
